« super drying - not good for sensitive skin »
Unfortunately, I’m one of those people who had an extremely bad experience with this product. At first, I was using the Murad Time-Released cleanser, but that wasn’t doing anything one way or the other for my skin, so I decided to up my cleanser game.My skin is combo - oily forehead and nose and breakouts along my chin-line. I would not describe my skin as dry at all, but it can be sensitive. So I bought this clarifying cleanser and the clarifying toner. I used them both for two nights, and my skin reacted horribly. It was more than just typical dry skin. It looked like a chemical burn. Scaly, irritated, raised, red, and itchy. I blamed it on the toner since I know those can be harsh. I stopped using any products until my face went back to normal, which took about 4-5 days. Then I tried using just the clarifying cleanser. Well, my skin reacted the same way. Not as bad as before, but it totally dried my skin out to the point where no amount of moisturizer could fix it. I stopped using it a few days ago and my skin is finally back to normal.I say that if you have skin that is even a little dry or sensitive, to try it out but beware and keep a close eye out for any bad reactions. If you see even a little redness or dryness, stop using it immediately because it’s just going to get way worse!
« This stuff is AMAZING »
I have been struggling with acne for the past year... I never had it all through high school or college and all of the sudden last year I starting getting acne all along my cheeks and forehead...it has been frustrating...I’ve tried so many different acne cleansers..but nothing was working to my satisfaction. I went into Sephora and the beauty advisor recommended me this one. I was skeptical because of all the mixed reviews...but I’m so glad that I tried it. I love it and it starts working right away! I swear I might wake up with some pimples and I wash my face with this and by the end of the day..the pimples are significantly reduced if not totally gone. Never hurts to try it..might work wonders for you and your skin!
« MY MOST RECOMMENDED PRODUCT »
I struggled with acne on my forehead and temple until I found this. IT completely cleared my skin paired with the spot treatment. I use it twice a day on my forehead, temples and chin. I do not use this on my nose and cheeks because I have sensitive skin that dries out easily. This does not dry out my forehead, but clears acne and redness.
« Don't waste your money »
Did absolutely nothing for my acne, just made my hormonal acne 30x worse. I’m not one to write reviews but it’s almost necessary to give anyone who’s looking to clear their acne a heads up that this product ISN’T IT. I’ve used for weeks now and I kept getting more acne, it made no sense. Let’s talk about the ingredient list here. Lavandula Hybrida Oil? Why is this in an acne face wash? It’s an essential oil, which if you’re acne prone - you’re most likely sensitive to, which equals more pimples on your face you’re going to end up trying to get rid of. Please rethink the ingredients you’ve put in this face wash Murad. Highly disappointed.
« Scarred For Life »
I received this product in an Ipsy bag. I decided to try it about 1 week ago. I used it at night every night, for 3 days. I felt my skin becoming a little taut but continued to use it because I loved how it made my face feel minty!! By the 5th day I got little bumps allll over my face, then it began to itch, then by the 7th day my face now has a full blown huge, itchy, awful rash. My face feels like I’ve gotten a sun rash/hives all in one, tight itchy and painful. The parts that are healing are now causing tiny little round dark scars all over my face. I see so many people love this and I wanted to love this SO bad because it felt so good on the skin, but.. well.. now my already acne prone face looks 10x worse with all these scars :(
« DO NOT BUY. »
My face typically adapts to facial cleansers and I thought that this would be a really good one but ever since I started using it which was 2 weeks ago, my face has been itching me nonstop and has turned completely red. Wouldn’t recommend this facial cleanser to anyone.... not for everyone and definitely feels like a cheap facial cleanser....
love, love, love! this seemed to be the only cleanser that worked with my acne prone skin. I used it night and day. now my skin has cleared up dramatically and I believe this product was one of the reasons
« Hopeless to Amazed »
I’ve NEVER had clear skin and I’m 24 years old. I have always struggled with black heads and the occasional white head, but I chalked it up to genetics and learned to just live with it, after many attempts to get my skin clear. Fast forward to 2020 and with the implementation of masks, my skin became horrible. I had tons of under the skin pimples and my black heads were multiplying over night. It got to the point that I could squeeze any random spot on my cheek and my pores would expel tons of gunk. I did a ton of online research and purchased the following products:- Murad Clarifying Cleanser- Innisfree Super Volcanic Clusters Pore Clearing Clay Mask- Peace Out Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment SerumI’m four days in and have noticed an immediate difference in my skin. I use the cleanser, with a cleaning brush, and serum twice a day, but have only used the mask once. My blackheads are almost completely gone, my under the skin acne has vanished completely, my skin is 10x softer and my complexion is evening out. I’m absolutely amazed. I went from being hopeless to amazed in a matter of days.
« Disappointed »
I had high hopes for this cleanser based on reviews but it really just made my skin look bad. I have combo skin that is a little sensitive, and this cleanser stripped it to being very dry and lifeless looking, and actually GAVE me problems with small little white bumps I did not previously have. I have given it more than 3 weeks of use just to make sure it was a hormonal issue or some other problem, but it is definitely the cleanser causing the problems. I wish I had the good results others have reported. This will be a very rare return to Sephora for me.
« Caused cystic breakouts »
I was really excited about this cleanser because I love Murad moisturizers. But this cleanser gave me the worst acne I have ever experienced. This says a lot because I was on actuate in high school. After a short time using this cleanser, I developed cystic acne all over my chin and jaw line, as well as between my eyebrows.
« sandpaper »
I was hoping that this would help with my oily skin and occasional breakouts but after one use my face is as dry as a desert with the texture of sandpaper. It’s been four days since I used it and while my face is not oily it is so red and dry that I could never use this again.
« a great product, you need to use it correctly »
I love this product, I have been using this face wash for a long time. However, now that my skin is getting a bit more dry and a lot less oily, I use this face wash maybe once or twice a week. I still suffer from acne, especially hormonally related acne, and this definitely helps. But 2% salicylic acid is definitely a DRUG and it is important to understand that. Salicylic helps with inflammation, so it helps reduce redness and swelling associated with acne. It’s not anti-bacterial like benzoyl peroxide. This is a solid part of an acne treatment regimen, but treating acne is a very complex task and it is going to be different for every single person. If you have acne, I recommend using this, but if it dries out your skin too much, I’d recommend only using it twice/three times a week and trying a more gentle cleanser in the meantime. I would definitely only advice using it at night until you see how your skin reacts to it. There is a lot of science behind treating acne and it all depends on your skin type. This will probably be a great cleanser for some people and a terrible cleanser for others...
« Not for sensitive skin »
I have used a lot of different types of cleanser; this one has been the first to break me out. I was looking for something to cleanse and help with mild acne. This broke me out worse then puberty did :(I was really excited to get this cleanser. I really wanted it to work too. But it just wasnt for me. Clinique is my next investment!
« FINALLY.. THE CURE! acne is an issue from the Past »
I CAN’T BELIEVE THAT I FINALLY FOUND A SOLUTION FOR MY ACNE !! after 10 years of struggling and trying many products ! wearing face masks all the day made things worse BUT MURAD clarifying cleanser just cleared everything (acne disappeared , reduced white heads and oiliness) My skin is very oily , it shines like nothing else ( But not after using this cleanser) , I use this AM and PM .. Never dried my face .. No anymore breakouts .. I noticed a difference from the first week ..THANK YOU DR MURAD FOR THIS SUPER AMAZING PRODUCT !!
I love this cleanser. Immediatly after i started using it my face felt cleaner, and it doesnt dry me out even though it has a high acid content. Warning, it will probably break you out at first because its drawing out all the “gunk“ in your skin. I’ve been using it for about 3 weeks, and my skin is almost clear. Just a few zits i got from my period but it is even clearing them up. Oh, i also have sensitive skin and this doesn’t irritate it
