« Why did you change it Origins?? »

I’ve adored this product for years! And these mini-sizes were perfect for travel (always mask it up on a long flight!), taking to the gym, and gifting to fellow dry-skinned friends. I wish I could still buy the old, perfect, beloved formula. But Origins decided to change it, maybe because it was called a “mask” and admittedly, it was muuuch more than that. This new avocado product is more like a mask, but unfortunately not a very good one. There’s another mask in the Origins range (Dr. Weil Soothing Resilience) that serves near enough the same purpose, but that’s much better. In any case, though I love almost any intensely moisturizing product, I don’t think I’m going to get through the one tube I bought of this new avocado gunk :(

The older formula was a godsend for me-I don’t know why origins changed it. The older formula smelled great, and didn’t bother my super dry skin--it did wonders.I was running low, so I bought a new one in December, unaware it was different. The smell is just...off...and it felt way more greasy than the older formula. I am going to have to search for a new overnight sleep mask. Disappointed.

« NOTHING ELSE WORKED... until this! »

For a back story, my skin ALWAYS peels. It is the driest skin on the planet. The most expensive creams did nothing. I slather this on morning and night - every single day. Nothing else has stopped the peeling and moisturized my skin all day and night like this does. I have SENSITIVE skin too! I have the worst combo: ultra sensitive, ultra dry, and acne prone. I swear this is magic. I’d cover my body with it if I could. It’s so good!

I really like this product. I also really liked the old formula as well. I do think the scent is a little strong, but other than that I really like it! It’s think but absorbs quickly and doesn’t make me feel too greasy. I like how practical the mini size is.

Love this as an overnight mask, I apply over the Drunk Elephant retinol product. Very hydrating, not heavily scented, will repurchase the full size product.

this mask is amazing. i typically have oily and sensitive skin, but this does not break me out or irritate. if i’m feeling dry in the winter or even if i just feel like i need an extra something special for my skin while i sleep, i use this mask. it makes my skin look and feel super soft and fresh. also love that sephora had the mini option for this so i could try it, i will definitely be repurchasing the big one!

Very greasy. It sat on top of my the skin and broke me out the first time I used it. Not for acne prone skin.

A little bit of this mask hydrated my skin after a horrible cold week in Minnesota! I use this in place of moisturizer at night, and I wake up with glowy skin!

« 4.5 Stars! »

This overnight mask does wonders for my dry skin! It soothes, moisturizers, and hydrates my skin making it feel so soft in the morning. The only reason why I’m giving this 4.5 stars instead of 5 is because it does leave a sticky residue on your skin and takes a bit to soak in. So if you put it on within a half hour of going to bed, it can stick to your pillow. However, considering it is suppose to be a mask that is thick and hydrating, it makes sense that this might happen.

« Did Not Deliver Desired Results For Dry Skin »

I have always had hit and miss experiences with Origins. This mask, sadly, was a miss for me. DRINK UP is thinner than I expected it to be given the ingredients, and it ultimately failed to keep my skin hydrated overnight--indeed, I never felt that it helped much with hydration, even in the immediate aftermath of application. I typically use overnight masks to keep my dryer cheeks and chin hydrated; this mask did nothing to help those areas. After a few weeks of using DRINK UP every night and still waking up with flakes around my jaw line, I decided to discontinue use (which was easy, since the mini I purchased was about out).To be sure, the mask did not irritate my skin, leave me feeling oily, or make me break out. It is a light, creamy mask that the skin drinks up quickly and happily. It also had a surprising smell, sort of like a jolly rancher or those orange tic-tacs. For some reason I really liked this aspect of the mask! Given that the mask did me no harm, I do not begrudge purchasing it. I just think that it is meant for skin that is not as dry as mine. Final Note: I am very impressed that Origins makes so many of its products available as minis. Having a more affordable option for trying their products has allowed me to test out products I’m interested in for a few weeks before deciding whether to commit. Their minis have put me onto products that I eventually feel confident purchasing in full sizes (e.g., their Rose Clay Mask), and when a product doesn’t deliver in the way I want it to, I don’t end up having to choose between continuing to use a product that I don’t like or discontinuing it and wasting the remaining product. I wish more skincare companies would follow Origins’ example on this front.

Boo. Super scented and contains alcohol. Didn’t really hydrate and the scent was overpowering. You know that feeling that you know you’re putting something potentially disastrous on your face? That’s this.

This did leave my skin feeling moisturized the next day, but also left me with several new breakouts each time I used it. I’m thinking my skin is sensitive to an ingredient (maybe coconut oil), so if you know your skin reacts well to coconut oil, give it a shot!

I recieved this as a sample with a different order and I have to say I love it. I even bought a full size. The smell is delicious and it’s perfect for a sleeping mask. I have super sensitive skin and did not have an issue with it clogging or irritating my skin. Definitely makes my skin feel softer!

I love this mask! It feels so fresh on the skin, the smell is great and it is soooo hydrating. I use drying products to treat my acne, and use this mask a few times a week to balance things out and bring back moisture to my skin. It is truly wonderful! I have sworn by it for a few years now.

I have very sensitive skin, so I was nervous about how this product would work. It is pretty great! It moisturizes very well, without leaving my skin greasy, and it smells amazing, too!
