ALIVE Prebiotic Balancing Mask

This is one of my favorite pore-cleansing masks I have tried. It is SUPER rich and creamy, massages easily onto the face (as the color transformation happens) and, most importantly, cleans pores WITHOUT drying your face out. My face actually felt kind of moisturized after I washed the mask off! The ALIVE moisturizer is SUPER hydrating and rich, as well, so if dry skin is a concern for you, this is a wonderful duo to try!

This mask is just what I needed!! It has an amazing texture and doesnt dry my skin out like the other clay based masks I’ve tried. It’s quick to use and comes off so clean! My skin is instantly brightened after using it and the redness is GONE! It’s really been helping my clogged pores too. My skin just looks so much better. Will definitely re-purchase!

I’m very confused.This product seems to be receiving lots of respect and love for its effectiveness and positive results it brings. And that is also why I decided to try it with very high hopes, only to experience immediate negative reaction. Right after I cleansed the mask (left on for 10-15mins), I got small bumps and whiteheads across my whole face not to mention my skin seemed rather irritated than calmed or soothed. I am really confused why I had such a reaction, which, the kind of reaction I never had. Unfortunately I am one of the very few that didn’t work well to this mask.

I grabbed a sample of this at my local Sephora store (btw they ROCK... Randi, Carson) and I do like how the first application went. It did sting a little, however, that could have been because I just shaved. Most likely the case, considering the fact that there is lactic acid in it. Yet, I still do like the results that I see. Particularly on my forehead, where I can see that it brought a stasis in the little bumps I always see present.

I’m a two year Rouge member and I’ve never bothered to write a review until this product. I cannot praise it enough. I’ve used a great many masks in my time, of any and all variety, but nothing leaves my skin with such immediate results. This mask causes my skins texture to appear completely changed! I say appear because I know products can’t actually do that- you can’t actually shrink a pore or change your epidermis... but by the skincare gods above I swear my skin has never looked smoother, fuller, or brighter. 30 years old, always been blessed with clear skin, but this bad boy makes me feel like I’m in high school again ; )

I react to EVERYTHING. I have really sensitive skin that’s being pummelled with Rx creams trying to reduce my rosacea and retexture. I was really hesitant to try this for fear of losing progress. However, I applied this mask and was pleasantly surprised. I warmed it up in my fingers prior to applying to prevent a “pull” when rubbing on (it worked), and it was not at all uncomfortable and after rinsing it off my skin was glowing g and literally ‘like glass’. Did very well refining pores.Also, I had a small 10ml sample so if the math is correct with 4 uses out of it- you can get 20 + uses out of this jar!!!IMO an excellent buy!

I LOVE Algenist products but was a little skeptical of this one since it seems a little gimmicky with the color changing affect. However, it is amazing! I have sensitive skin and rosacea and it is calming and lightly detoxifying. It rinses off very easily and does not leave my skin tight, dry or stripped. I am not sure how much science there is behind prebiotic/probiotic ingredients on the skin but it seems to balance my skin and calm some of my redness. I can use it on specific trouble spots on my face or all over with great results!

Glad I took the chance and bought it. Wonderful mask. It doesn’t dry down into hard clay texture, it remains fairly tacky and comfortable. It tingles a bit (nothing too crazy since it’s gentle overall). If you have a extremely sensitive skin, I’d recommend leaving it on for 3 minutes as opposed to the full 5 minutes. It’s not harsh or drying at all and it didn’t feel like my skin was parched, flakey, or red afterwards. Didn’t make me break out. Easy to use.

« A HYDRATING CLAY MASK?! »

This a wonderful clay mask (formulated with three different clays) that won’t mess up your moisture barrier like other clay masks. This is the most hydrating clay mask I’ve ever used! The ingredients are wonderful! Prebiotics topically, are great for those using retinols, or topical acne treatments, as the prebiotics will help restore your skins barrier function, reducing redness, dryness, ect...My skin texture has improved significantly after using this two times weekly for four weeks!

I’ve been trying to utilize the stay at home order by getting my skin into great shape again. I’m in my mid 40s, combo skin though more on the oily side. I’ve been using this mask every 3rd day in combination with Farmacys Honey Potion and Drunk Elephant baby facial. I absolutely love all 3, but I’ve been using the other 2 for a while so this one was an amazing compliment. It’s only left on the skin for up to 5 minutes, but what it does in that 5 minutes is amazing! My skin feels soft and visibly glows! Its helped to keep my skin feel balanced, my hormonal chin breakout that I get every month didn’t happen this time. I’ve been a rouge member for probably 5 years and rarely review but felt this gem was worth the time.

I bought this mask on a whim. I’m a product junkie and I think a lot of products sometimes blend together and you never really know what’s working . I use this mask on my clients post micro-needling and before I set them under LED UV light therapy. It makes the skin feel baby soft. Just like probiotics for your gut, your skin, which is also an organ, needs nutrition. I’ve found this to be the best product for sensitivity, inflammation and dehydration. I also like how it emulsify into a cleanser and washes clean off the face. GREAT BUY, great price!

« Perfect for acne prone or dull skin »

I love this product for balancing my acne-prone skin and for brightening it. I let the mask absorb completely and then gently rinse it off. I notice immediate brightening to my skin. For added benefit, I use a probiotic moisturizer right after for a synergic effect with this product and get rid of any bad, acne-causing bacteria. I’ll be using this product for as long as they make it.

This mask totally surprised me! It has a unique texture and changes color as it’s rubbed in/activated. Leaves my skin feeling purified as well as hydrated AND plump. It’s refreshing and I can see immediate results. Went from having zero expectations for this product to absolutely repurchasing in the future.

So helpful for problematic skin. Probiotics bring back good flora to our skin’s natural Microbiome (defense against outside things like pollution, bacteria, and UV). This is a game changer for my rosacea, dermatitis around eyebrows and nose (good bye steroid cream!), and improves small texture issues (rough skin- not referring to actual pimples/acne- that’s the one thing I don’t think this is targeting but it has EVEN calmed down some sore follicular pimples for me before!) I don’t get many. Remember to rub the mask in until it changes from blue to pink to release and activate all of the good ingredients. This is like a probiotic supplement for your face!! More of a gentle nourishing treatment than a pore unclogging mask. I won’t go without it.

I think I’m on my 5th jar now, I love it so much! My skin has become noticeably better since I’ve been using it at least once/ week. It doesn’t overly dry or tighten your skin, smells nice, and its less weird to have on around the house because it turns pink and isn’t too noticeable. I’ve used most of the Algenist line and this + the red clay mask are the only products I’m going to keep using.
