I have used Clarins Multi-Active Day Cream for more than 20 years. I was disappointed to learn after buying it this time that the product has been changed (gel?), and not for the better. It used to be rich, creamy, and lightly fragrant. Now it’s thin, gel-like, and has a strong cheap-perfume smell. I can find similar products at the drug store for a fraction of the cost. So, after 20 years of using the best moisturizer on the planet, the search for a new brand begins.

I love this brand!.. I’ve been using its products about a year ago, because my skin is way too difficult to deal, I have sensitive acne-prone combination skin, more oily than dry, but I develop from time to time dry patches on cheeks and forehead. So all that explanation is to tell you how amazing is this product, cause I’ve always been afraid of moisturizers for my super oily skin, however I was aware how much I need it, until I found this product, it absorbs quickly and doesn’t break me out, my skin feels so soft, meet the purpose for hydration and I don’t even know that I0m using it cause is very lightweight, all the redness is now gone along the marvelous doublé serum from Clarins. I really recommend it!!!

This moisturizer has really turned my skin around.. I have the beginning stages of rosacea and this works wonderfully at taming my inflamed skin, the only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is the packaging and the SPF content. I would love this cream even more if it came in a squeeze tube or a bottle with a pump, the SPF could stand to be a little higher, at least 30...

I was SUPER skeptical trying this new formula out. I had just started using the original Multi-Active Jour (day) cream when the discontinued it and released the two new versions. I had loved the old one and was so gutted that something good had to, of course, be replaced. But honestly, I like this version even better! I have very oily, sensitive and prone to break out skin so it’s difficult for me to find anything that works properly. But this makes my skin smooth, has severely limited breakouts and lightweight yet moisturizing. I totally recommend it to those of a similar skin type that have just given up. TRY IT.

I’ve been using this for over a year. I’m prone to breakouts if a moisturizer is too creamy for heavy. This is the first moisturizer that I haven’t had to scale back my usage. A little tiny bit will cover my face and won’t leave me feeling greasy or about to break out. I recently started using an eye serum and using this on top. Still no clogged pores. Super happy about this recommendation!

Perfect daily moisturizer! Not heavy, sticky or oily. Make up blends perfectly over it and it keeps your skin hydrated all day. I don’t mind the floral scent but I prefer the multi-active night cream refreshing scent better.

I usually love the smell of Clarins products but this cream has the strongest artificial rose scent (and I absolutely hate rose scents) Other than the scent issue this is a pretty great product! I had started using the Hydra Quench gel-cream over the winter and I absolutely loved it but wanted something a bit lighter for spring (My skin gets very dry in the winter but is a bit oilier in the summer) I love the way my skin looks and feels after applying this gel-cream! it absorbs in very quickly and my skin looks like its glowing from within. I also have incredibly sensitive acne prone skin and this cream does not make me break out at all! Overall a great find for us girls in our mid-late twenties that have the pleasure of suffering from fine lines and acne I just with they would remove the perfumes! :(

I wanted to love it, however something in this cream did not work well with my skin. I have acne prone/combination type, and after a couple of uses my acne got worse and my skin looks even more oily. Can’t say it absorbs quickly either. Just did not work for me

The box read it’s a great moisturizer for 20-30 something skin. A worker recommended it to me but definitely not good for my skin... I’m 41. It smells nice and feels good on the skin but did nothing for me.

Clarins is my mom secret to age defying looks. She recommend a start a normal beauty return and this is a must! It is so soft on my skin, does not cause for my skin to be oily and smells like roses! Light enough on the skin to wear everyday !

The cream has a nice texture but I do agree with other reviews that it is sticky and does not absorb well. Further, it is not appropriate for oily/combination skin at all. It adds so much grease.

I’m glad this is dimethicone-free but something about the other ingredients makes my powder foundation (Alima Pure) look cakey and patchy. When it’s first applied, my skin feels soft., almost powdery. The “radiance“ part translates into a slick-looking face after a few hours.

Very confused by the other comments on this product. This moisturizer is HIGHLY moisturizing and does not feel sticky whatsoever. It leaves my skin feeling super soft and is really perfect for pairing over other products (I often use Sunday Riley good genes/ lactic acid serum under this first without issue). Each of Clarins moisturizers are designed for a specific age range, this one (Multi-Active Day Cream-Gel) is for people in their 30s. Check their website to see that you’re ordering the most age/skin appropriate cream for your skin. I have combo skin and have had no issues with this, it provides a similar feeling to fresh’s Rose Deep Hydration cream without over powering scent.
