« Skin ruiner »

A frequent user of Clinique products, I gave this product a try in hopes of it zapping any problems before they arise. Instead this product did the complete opposite, absolutely RUIN my skin. I began breaking out in areas that I had never broken out before. In hopes of the “it gets worse before it gets better“ notion, I continued to use for another few days. Continued to get worse and my skin is now left with dark spots from the breakout. Do not waste your money on this product!!!

Great product - really helps me with my acne. Not a fan of the gel hence i gave it a 4 star. It’s hard to get the product out once 30% is left and some of it gets wasted cause the gel just trickles off my hand. Other than the gel part - the product is great for acne prone skin and helps calm the skin down.

This product changed my life. I never had acne in high school, but into my 20’s I had a severe breakout after moving to a new area in the polluted city with dry, cold weather. I had no idea what contributed to the breakout. Still don’t, actually. My skin is very sensitive since the breakout. I use it daily with my Clarisonic after removing all makeup with Clinique “Take the Day Off Balm“ AMAZING. It’s not intended to be a makeup remover, you must always remove makeup before using any cleanser.

For those with acne or acne-prone skin, this cleanser was made to be used with the Clinique Sonic System Purifying Cleansing Brush, and it works perfectly with it! Wetting your face, wetting the brush head, and adding a drop of this cleanser onto the brush head will result in more than enough foam.

I switched from Clinque’s foam acne wash to this as it was easier to use with my Clarasonic. I love this product as it doesn’t dry me out and is still gentle on my skin. I saw results within the first week of using it. My breakouts diminished and basically no new ones to be found. Still be sure to use a moisturizer with this product to prevent dryness.

I love this cleanser!! My skin is about as sensitive as it gets along with having acne....it cleans my face great. I still have zits but it’s really making a big difference.

I have used the entire Acne Solutions line from Clinique for about four years now. The foam is is already but hardly lasts, and the body bar is my favourite product every. This is new so I decided to give it a shot. I hate it. It is the exact same product at the body bar, and yet the body bar seems to give my skin more moisture. The cleaning gel seems to strip my skin of all moisture. HOWEVER, I have been putting it on a loufa to get rid of it and scrubbing my chest and back (i get breakouts there) and it works better than the bar.So the body bar is better for the face if you are sensitive to drying out, and the cleansing gel is better for the body if you need something a little rougher.

This cleanser worked great at washing off makeup but it did not help my acne at all. My acne got worse and the formula is very thin. You use more than necessary because half of it will fall out of your hand

Obviously, everyone’s skin is different and different things work wonders for some while being duds for others but I am on my third bottle of this and love it! It keeps my oily/combo skin completely under control. I use it on my face and chest/back in the shower and haven’t been able to rely on something to give me consistently clear skin since I was on roaccutane (milder version of accutane). I was in a different country and someone at a yoga place (not very namaste) stole it when I left it in the shower for less than a minute and for a month I had to use a drug store cleanser and yup, my skin noticed after about 3 days... luckily it cleared up within a week of getting my hands on another bottle. Definitely at least worth trying!

I was so surprised to see the low reviews for this cleanser because I’ve tried everything and this is the least irritating, most effective short- and long-term, and a great price. I combine it with them acne solutions clarifying lotion and a good moisturizer (has to be fragrance-free or I break out- paulas choice is my current go-to). About 2 days a week I switch to the mild Clinique cleansing gel because I can get overly dry and then oily if I overuse this. The clarifying lotion is a must for keeping those pores unclogged.

Holy grail. I have been using this since undergrad and have tried several other popular brands (origins checks and balances, exfolikate) just out of curiosity. Time and time and timeeeee again I always come back to this. I have oily skin and am prone to clogged pores and blackheads. I’ve been using this cleanser for 7 years and will never switch. Works excellent with a Clarisonic. Clinique is the best. I also use their dramatically different gel moisturizer and the #4 toner.

Within a week of using this I saw a 75% reduction in blemishes and at two weeks my face is almost clear. My new staple product, I’m so impressed with how well this works. Leaves my skin feeling clean without feeling dull.

This product is one out of three steps that I use in my nightly routine. I bought this out of desperation honestly, within the last 3 years I’ve tried literally so many products. High end, drug store, medicated prescriptions and I couldn’t get my cystic acne under control. I woke up one day to my face having these crazy flare ups to where I couldn’t even touch my face. Unfortunately I was left with a lot of scaring, and was still having flare ups randomly. Within a week of using this product my face is almost completely clear! I have super sensitive skin as well and this product hasn’t irritated me at all, it can be a little drying but if you follow this with a good moisturizer it will definitely help. I’ll take a little drying over cystic acne any day! I’m still in awe over the results.

I have tried the entire Clinique Acne Solutions line so I was interested in this new cleanser. I use it with my Clarisonic and it cleans my skin fairly well without being too drying. I do not mind the consistency, which many complained of being too watery. There is a stopper at the spout to prevent you from pouring too much product out and giving you more control. The formula is OK. I like the foaming cleanser, but I always found myself running out pretty quickly. I like this as an alternative. I recommend the foaming cleanser if you’re using your hands and this cleanser if you have a face brush! It lathers well and it’s fragrance free so it won’t irritate your skin.

« Did not notice a difference »

Used this for about two months and did not notice a difference in skin tone, acne, oiliness etc etc. Better option is Clinique Facial Soap (pump version).
