I put it on after I apply the dramatically different cream (not the lotion). In the morning my skin feels amazing!! If, like me, you live in a really dry climate where sun, wind, and elevation cause all skin types to become dehydrated, this product should almost be put in your medicine cabinet. Dry skin is a serious problem and the worse you let it get, the harder it is for skin to repair and maintain its natural moisture barrier. I have breakout and congestion prone, sensitive combo skin, which = unpredictable. A lot of moisturizers break me out even when I am parched. This is an amazing cure for those times when you can’t possibly put on enough moisturizer without using half of a 1.7 oz bottle. With this, a quarter size amount does the job. Takes care of itchy, flaky winter skin and parched, sun soaked summer skin. Restores balance overnight and brings back suppleness which will, over time, help with most signs of aging. (Hydration is the first key to avoiding wrinkles and dull, fatigued looking skin!) I only use it about once a week generally. Only slight con is it can be sticky and get on pillows and whatnot.

I am so glad I purchased this product without even reading the reviews for it. I saw it in store one day and tested the product on my fingers and I was amazed with how creamy-but-oil-free it was. It’s called a hydrating mask but I just use it as my nightly moisturizer before I go to bed. My face feels amazing with it on, and I wake up with my face still feeling completely creamy, supple, soft, baby-like and fully hydrated. I absolutely love this. The acne products I use dry my face out, in addition to my diabetes, so this is like a miracle moisturizer to me! I have acne prone skin, and this has not caused my face to break out at all. I only get oily at my nose area, and this doesn’t make it any more oily.

But I wouldn’t call it a mask, at least not for me : I use it as a day cream and it’s perfect. Perhaps my skin is pretty dry but it absorb quickly enough that I can put makeup on my skin right away after putting it on. It leaves my skin truly better looking and smooth. I also like that there is no oil in it, so it moisture without adding oil.

i received this in a sample size with the clinique 500 point perk, and i was instantly hooked. after only one use, my skin felt baby soft, plump, and oh so hydrated! i immediately bought the full size bottle. this is a life saver for me given the harsh winter we are having here in NY. i have nothing negative to say about this product. the price is unbeatable.

I have rosacea which makes my skin dry and sensitive. I have been using this every night and my skin loves it. I wake up with softer skin and even less redness.

My skin is combination and acne prone, so I worry that products that offer intense moisture will break out my skin. This intensive moisture mask provides visible results without me having to worry about zits! I also currently started reusing atralin (a retinoid acne med) that has left my skin blotchy, irritated and dry. Using this mask in combination with my current regimen has reduced redness and I have no dry flakey patches on my skin. Atralin usually causes my serums or moisturizers to form little clumps of product on my skin, but Cliniques mask absorbs beautifully. Also I am super happy you add it on top of your existing regimen, any night I use this i can still use all my other facial products :-)

Alright. Let me first start by saying, I joined this site to read reviews and research before I bought products, not write them. But this is something I HAVE to review!I bought this overnight mask because my skin is not only intensley dry, but dehydrated. We have had our coldest and longest winter here in Ottawa in over 20 years and it showed in my skin. Our apartment is also very dry as we cannot control the heat level and its always blasting. Not to mention our wall to wall carpeting sucks any moisture out of the air. We had 2 humidifiers running but that only added to the heat in our place. My skin was really sallow looking and REALLY dry. I suddenly had lots of fine lines showing up, my skin had no glow to it and not to mention had a rough looking texture. On top of our super dry apartment and uber cold winter, we have hard water. That sucks all the moisture from your skin as well. So things were really not going my way for moisturized skin.After trying SO many products on the market that just couldn’t get my skin back to the way it was, I decided to hit up my local clinique counter and give them a try. I have never used clinique products and I have never even really considered them while shopping for skin care. Why? I have no idea but I wish I had. I bought this on a whim to go with the moisture surge moisturizer that I would use during the day and the mask at night. That night I decided to exfoliate and wash my face and use this mask. After washing my face and letting it dry for about 15 minutes, I went ahead and applied the mask. Right away, the texture is very creamy without being heavy. It has a light scent but really nothing perfumy which I love. I applied about a dime sized amout to my finger and started to apply it all over my face and neck and within 5 minutes, it had absorbed right into my skin without leaving a trace. That’s how dry my skin was! It was like my skin was drinking it all in! It sounds rediculous but it really felt like a thirst quencher for my face. I decided to apply about a pea sized amount right around my eyes and same thing, absorbed within minutes.The next morning, my face felt beautifully soft but didn’t look any more mositurized. I guess in my head I would wake up and look like a Disney princess without a single flaw and glowing from within after 1 application. That was a week ago and today my skin looks INCREDIBLE! It’s soft, smoothe, my redness is gone, my skin has an even tone and not to mention, my skin looks dewey! Like I have never had a dry skin in my life.I have been using this mask every night and using the moisture surge extended thirst relief in the morning after I am out of the shower. It asborbs in a flash and my skin stays beautiful and hydrated all day!I paid $92 for both products and I wish it had a smaller price tag but really, for a product that works as well as this, I would pay it again. You really do not need much of the product so I feel I got my money’s worth. I hope this review helps anyone that had as many skin issues as I did and I hope this works as well for them as it did for me!

« Replacement for Moisture Surge Intense - Maybe? »

3 Stars for now since its only been about 2 weeks. Purchased this as a daily moisturizer because I hate the new Moisture Sure Intense Face creme which is not as hydrating as the old formula. This “night mask“ is actually a better value per ml of product received. It definitely does a better job since my face isnt tight and peeling by the end of the day ( very dry sensitive eczema prone skin).

This broke me out badly. Rashes all over. I use the sonic facial wash so I really want a matching Clinique night cream! I do have contact dermatitis and I’m thinking it’s the Shea butter in it that is breaking me out.

« Not what I had hoped »

I was excited to see just how hydrated and supple my face would feel in the morning after applying this the night before. It was an overnight hydrating mask after all.As I was smoothing it on my face after my normal nightly routine (minus the ultra moisture cream I normally use) the first thing I noticed was that it was very silky going on but absorbed completely dry in seconds. For this reason I put on another layer or two just in case.The next morning I woke to find my skin slightly tighter and drier than normal. Basically, my regular nighttime moisture cream beat out this moisture mask! I was so disappointed...I was hoping to use this product to replace my cream.My age group:30s / season tested: dead of summer in Texas.

« Very Moisturizing, Definitely Not For Oily Skin »

I’d like to preface this by saying that I have dry skin, especially during the winter, so I know that this product will work differently for me than people with other skin types! This product works really well for me - I use it after using the Lancome Tonique Confort (which is such a gentle, great toner that I’d really recommend as a part of your nighttime skincare routine), and the two of them together really moisturize my skin. When I wake up in the morning, my skin is nice and hydrated.However, I do know that this product is really thick and sometimes doesn’t work for people with oily skin. It can also irritate some peoples’ skin and create small bumps on some people. I definitely wouldn’t recommend using a lot of this product - a little definitely goes a long way. I really like another overnight mask from Glow Recipe (the Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask), but this is a lot cheaper and a better value (one 3.4oz tube has lasted me 6 months). You also don’t have to wash this mask off in the morning, which is nice - it’s almost more like a really heavy moisturizer. Another nice thing about this overnight mask is that it’s fragrance free (the Glow Recipe overnight mask has a really nice watermelon scent, but I know that fragrance in skincare can irritate some peoples’ skin), so it’s better for people with sensitive skin.In conclusion, I would recommend this overnight mask to people who have dry skin (especially in the winter), and/or are sensitive to fragrance in skincare, since this has no fragrance (or artificial coloring!).

This product is absolutely amazing! I normally have oily skin but due to a combination of my benzyl peroxide treatment and the extremely cold weather, my face started to become extremely flaky. Every time I applied my foundation, it looked cakey and scaly yet I’d still be oily in a few hours. So, I decided I needed something intensely moisturizing. Based on reviews and the relatively cheap price, I bought this. After only one use the flakiness of my skin improved dramatically. It felt so good on my face I decided to try it as a moisturizer under my makeup. So glad I did. My makeup goes on super smooth and my face is plump and hydrated. Doesn’t add any extra oil either. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who needs some moisture put back in their face. Works great as either nighttime cream or daily moisturizer.

While I was pregnant I developed SEVERE dry skin on my forehead. I resulted in using a body butter on my face because nothing else helped. I decided one day while browsing Sephora online to pick this up. It was VERY hydrating but didn’t feel greasy at all. It has the texture of a regular lotion but like I said, not greasy. A little goes a long way and this product will last you long time. And don’t let the term “mask“ scare you, you do not have to rinse this off in the morning.

In the winter, my skin developed atopical eczema, and this was the only cream that could fix it! Even the prescribed cream from the doctor didn’t wok nearly as well as this. It makes my skin very soft and smooth, I’d say it was worth the money considering how long it will last.
