BioLumin-C Vitamin-C Gel Moisturizer

Received a trail size through the Beauty Offers and was really curious to try it as I like gel moisturizers and use Vitamin C every morning. Unfortunately it was a let down. The product is very sticky, has a cheap citrus smell, and uses vitamin C derivatives which are less effective at brightening and collagen production.

This is great product. Medium weight, jelly like moisturizer that smells like heavily of citrus. Very hydrating and dewy. Makes an excellent makeup base because it almost leaves a tacky (not sticky) base for your makeup to adhere to.

Okay stop whatever you are doing and read this; Especially if you’re a guy in your mid-20s, or perhaps just have combination skin (oily t zone summers/dry and sensitive around cheeks winters) and need some more info.Also this is my first review ever.I’ve been on a hunt for THE moisturizer for a bit over a year now. And by hunt I mean thorough research, advice from estheticians/derms, learning all of the skincare ingredients, and so on… I’ve tried most mainstream brands/products such as men oriented personalized skincare sets (like lumin), men oriented lines such as Kiehls facial fuel and Paula’s choice for men, and a lot of popular products (in this case we’ll discuss moisturizers) like La Roche Posay toleraine, Kiehls ultra facial cream, olehenrikesen pore remedy, Boy de Chanel moisturizer, even tried my moms Crème de la Mer, but that’s too much for a 25 year old. These are only a few products from my massive stockpile.Yesterday I was at Sephora and was getting my second bottle of this Dermalogica Biolumin C moisturizer, and let me tell you something, it was the FIRST time in my life I’ve bought the same moisturizer for the second time. Sounds odd, I know but I swear to you, this is the one! I’ve had a few use-the-entire-jar-before-replacing creams like Kiehls Ultra and YTTP air Whip, but due to my obsession with always trying to find a better product I could never stick to one. Until now.I was always a bit afraid of using vitamin c products (serums mostly) due to my skin once again being reactive at times, but this product did not make me breakout or even cause redness on my cheeks which usually always happens after any moisturizer. It absorbs very quickly in my case and I currently use Dermalogica physical defense sunscreen over it during day time (I live in the northeast so it’s getting pretty cold and windy) and it’s just a perfect amount of moisture! My skin finally looks radiant, healthy and happy lol! Don’t sleep on this moisturizer you guys!!!

This is one of the best Vitamin C moisturizers I’ve tried so far. I’m quite particular with what goes into my skin and I was hesitating on the price point for awhile, but after researching the ingredients and reading reviews, I decided to give it a shot and I’m glad I did!I have Combination skin, oily T-zone with stubborn blackheads. My complexion can vary between dull & ashy or bright & glowing. This largely depends on the quality of my sleep, but good skincare definitely plays a big part in improving my skin. I’ve been using this Vitamin C moisturizer every morning (I use another hydrating moisturizer for night) and I’ve noticed my dark spots aren’t as obvious anymore, my skin looks brighter and feels well-hydrated.This does give you a tacky/sticky feeling (like some have mentioned) when you first apply it on your skin. So I mix a few drops of face oil (I use YTTP’s Superberry Hydrate oil) with the the BioLumin-C moisturizer in my palm, mix it together and apply on my face and neck. It glides on much more smoothly and my face feels wonderful. I apply my sunscreen after and everything sits in harmony on my happy face. :)

This moisturizer is worth every penny. A single bottle lasted me 6 month. I noticed a huge change in my dark spots. It is also not sticky & absorbs pretty quickly.

« Great for Days Off »

I can’t quite bring myself to give this full stars because it remains tacky on my skin--the tackiness fades a little by about the 10 minute mark but never fully goes away. This means that I only use it on non-work days...when I’m not going to be putting anything else besides sunscreen on my skin. I still do use it then, however, because it works. I have combination skin with a tendency toward sensitivity, but this does not cause redness or irritation (which most other Vit C products cause for me), and it plumps and brightens...I like to think that my 40 year old skin looks like it did in my 30s. : ) Good stuff if you can handle the sticky part.

This is probably the best smelling moisturizer I’ve ever used! Although it seems delicious, I found it leaves almost a sticky residue on my face - it didn’t leave my face feeling fresh.

I love Dermalogica products, but this one has yet to meet my expectations. It smells delicious but left my face feeling a little tacky and it didn’t feel fully absorbed. I was hoping it would be more moisturizing for daytime in the winter months.

« Fast acting and effective »

This product was gifted by Dermalogica to try for two weeks. After using this product for about 10 days I already see results! I’m always hearing great things about Dermalogica but honestly have not had it in my skin care routine until now. Not only is this a great job moisturizer because I have oily skin, but it also holds the hydration in and works really great under my sunscreen. Just look at the results in my before and after photo! I think it speaks for itself.

I like this moisturiser. It has a nice smell and I believe it’s improving my skin. I got it from Sephora Beauty rewards together with other Dermalogica vitamin C products including face serum, eye serum and exfoliant. The only downside, I use it only before bed because this moisturiser is so sticky after application, impossible to layer primer or foundation on it but ideal for the PM routine, I wake up fresh and like it a lot.

After using this product over the last few days, I’m not impressed.I don’t tend to have sensitive skin, but this product made my skin itchy and red.Along with that, it also leaves a very tacky/sticky feeling on the face.Considering the product is a gel form, it should feel light but I can’t get past the heavy/sticky feeling.

I already LOVE the eye and face serum, and this gel moisturizer is just such a great addition to the Vitamin C line! It’s super hydrating (even for the month of October in Canada), immediately brightening, sits well under makeup (slightly tacky but in a good way), and pairs great with a sunscreen of your choice. Excellent product, combined with Biolumin-C Eye Serum and Biolumin-C Serum. After exfoliating and preparing your skin , these 3 duos leave your face feeling refreshed, energized and looking radiant. Your skin feels so smooth and fine lines around eyes feel wonderfully moisturized and skin feels firm- and your skin just looks amazing!I love these Dermalogica products and LOVE how great my face and skin feels!

I wanted to love this as it is expensive. It leaves a sticky residue on my face all day and caused my forehead to break out with itchy red bumps. I stopped using it for a week and gave it another try. I had the same reaction immediately. I will be returning.

Don’t waste your money. Did absolutely nothing for me and couldn’t even soak into my skin properly. Doesn’t even deserve a full star.
