Let me start by saying, DE is one of my top 3 favorite skincare brands..... I have tried their entire line and love almost everything. But this product unfortunately fell flat for my dehydrated skin. You would think, with combo skin type that is sensitive.... that this product was made for people like me. But it’s unfortunately just a heavier weight serum IMO. I wouldn’t call this an overnight mask. I have tried to make this product work for me in numerous ways, layering oils or heavy moisturizers under and over it, using duringnthe day, ex. But I can’t get this mask to absorb into the skin.... the texture is super nice, don’t get me wrong, but it just SITS on top of the skin without doing much hydrating. Also, be careful bc this product has flaxseed and corn oil in it that is very comodogenic for acne prone and has broken me out HORRIBLY. Just be warned it may not be as thick as you’re hoping for.

« Best Overnight Mask Ever »

This overnight mask is the BOMB...FBalm to be exact ! It is sooo moisturizing ! It sinks in quickly upon application and leaves my skin so plump & soft come morning...and definitely moisturized ! My skin drinks it up and begs for more. I used it after Sukari and noticed that it also calmed the little bit of redness I had on the apples if my cheeks. I love this mask and am so glad Drunk Elephant came out with it !

I am a big fan of this product. My intentions are to use it more as a night cream as it sinks it quickly which is what I’ve been looking for in a night cream. So many night creams just sit on the surface and are wasted on my pillow but F Balm doesn’t just sit there. No scent is a godsend. No silicone is also a godsend as I’m HIGHLY allergic. Anyone out there who must stay away from silicone knows how hard it is to find a nice night cream that’s silicone free. This is our answer!!! I’m not completely loyal to the entire Drunk Elephant line but this will be a staple. :)

I can’t say enough good things about this product. If you’re in a cold climate, you need this product this winter! The directions say to use 4-5 pumps, but you really don’t need that much. 2 is plenty and 3 makes a nice thick layer for sleep. I’ll be using this all winter long

« Fixes the Retin A scalies »

Every so often, I overdo the Retin A, and I get a horrible two weeks of cracked and scaly skin. I’ve been looking for awhile for a good overnight mask that might repair the damage, but many of them are loaded up with other ingredients that don’t heal in a situation like this, but exacerbate the scalies. I’m loyal to DE for one of the best ever masks, the Sukari Baby Facial, and after going through the ingredients, I was pumped that this might be the Retin A fix. And oh, is it ever! A few pumps on my skin, a deep sleep, and my skin looks almost healthy! Plump, nourished, and the scalies are almost gone. I’m in awe.So let this be a lesson to you: don’t overdo the Retin A. But if you should, this is a perfect, almost magical fix.

Went and got this the day it came out. This is AMAZING! I love that you can easily layer it onto whatever your nighttime skincare routine is. It doesn’t leave any greasy/filmy feeling like most nighttime masks do and it really sinks in and makes such a difference in my skin the next morning. Don’ want to be without this! If you are dry skin using Lala Retro and then this on top at night = AMAZING!

I received this product as a sample and decided to try it on a night when I was giving my skin a rest from exfoliants. I applied my everyday toner, hyaluronic acid serum and this as my moisturizer. I woke up with my face covered in tiny red and white bumps. This is especially disheartening because my skin was FINALLY clearing after a battle with hormonal acne. I have never experienced anything like this from a Drunk Elephant product, but I can promise that I will never use this stuff again.

I bought this the minute I saw it, unlike Influensters(by the way, they are getting really annoying here and shouldn’t be allowed to post. They didn’t pay for their product and very few reviews are honest I feel). ANYHOO, I was waiting for this and the Tatcha serum stick. I stopped what I was doing to order them both. I’m so happy to say for me personally, with dry, sensitive, winter skin up here in the North, they both are helping. I’m happy I didn’t have to return either item. I wasn’t totally clear on it from the description, but this does come with a mini Framboos serum, F.Y.I. I like that too. I just have another A.H.A toner I have been using and put the cream on after and my skin is so smooth. :-)

First off, I absolutely love DE products. I have sensitive, red, reactive skin that has been improving ever since I started “The Littles“ kit.I was so excited to try this balm, I applied it directly over my nightly drops off virgin marula oil, however, it caused my skin to break out after two uses. I NEVER break out and I am so disappointed F-balm didn’t work for my skin.

I’m a DE loyalist and use multiple DE products in my AM and PM routines, so was really excited at the prospect of a hydrating and moisturizing product that seemed to be the perfect night time pairing for any high intensity actives like retinoids or Babyfacial. Ordered New Year’s Day as soon as it dropped and sadly have been nothing but disappointed at how this mask reacted with my skin. I used it three different ways on three different days (with a day off in between each) and each time was left with dry, somewhat irritated skin and clogged pores on my cheeks, which I have not experienced before with any other product. The first night I tried after a double cleanse and Babyfacial (no added hydration, skin somewhat dry), the next time I tried after a double cleanse and a Framboosh/Marula combo (irritates, clogged pores, dry), and last night I used it after a double cleanse and no actives (same). Very disappointing, and I’m very surprised at how skewed the ratings are on this app toward 4-5 star ratings. Sadly retuning. For those who like it, enjoy.

« WORTH IT! »

I usually do not leave reviews after one use. However, I absolutely had to after using this product. I initially tried it on my hand in store and was really satisfied with the way it made the skin on my hand feel without all the extra grease or heaviness. Having combination skin I’m usually concerned about a product either over-saturating my face, or being too lightweight. I used it on my face after the Drunk Elephant TLC Night Serum, and I cannot day enough good things after one use. For starters I live in a cold area where the air is dry and harsh to the skin. The combination of this plus the TLC has visibly helped with the appearance of dry skin, and made the skin feel supple without all the extra shine and overly oily feel. Even as far as the texture I usually have on my chin and forehead, it has significantly helped improve that. I know that with time and continued usage of this product, I can bring my skin to an even happier place. My skin tends to lean towards the sensitive side from time to time so I’m very picky about products. I’ve had some hits and misses with this brand but this one is definitely a hit. If you do plan on using this with the TLC Night Serum, is suggest building up tolerance to chemical exfoliants if you’ve never used one before. Try it 1-2 nights a week before frequent usage.

I bought this at Sephora yesterday, so I’ve only tried it once... but I’m impressed so far.For the last 4 days I’ve had horrible dry, flaky skin on my nose/chin and all around my mouth (yay winter).When I woke up this morning, it was GONE. I was so shocked. I used B Hydra and LaLa first, then F Balm as my last step. Loving this so far!!

« My favorite hydration treatment! »

So I am a Sephora employee and I originally got this in my gratis first. I loved that the ingredient list was full of skin loving ingredients like squalane, Niacinamide and ceramides. The texture is really lovely, little beads made up of 2 fatty acids break down as you mix this product into your skin. It does leave a little bit of a film but nothing sticky or heavy. I mix this with my Kiehl’s Ultrafacial Cream and it’s provides me lasting hydration that doesn’t cause breakouts. I have combination acne prone skin and rosacea so I have to be very careful with my products in my routine. I am on a benzoyl peroxide treatment currently so this helps to keep my skin from peeling/drying out while using such a strong topical. I really feel that as an esthetician, this product is a win from drunk elephant. Even the most sensitive skin types can benefit from this product. I don’t recommend using 5 pumps, more like 1-2 mixed in with a moisturizer or alone will be more than enough for the face.

I’ve really enjoyed this so far. My roommate and I are both relatively big fans of most DE products, so we decided to buy a bottle of this together as we tested it out. She’s also digging this so far. It’s a great product, it gives solid results in terms of hydration, but I had to knock off a star for 2 reasons1. The price tag. As with most DE products, they’re slightly overpriced. We all know that. 2. The biggest reason, though, for only getting 4 stars from me is that the directions say to use 4-5 pumps per application and it’s just not necessary. Like, at all. The texture of this is somewhere between the B Hydra and the Lala moisturizer. The one star reviews people are giving may have something to do with the fact that they’re breaking out most likely because they’re following the instructions and there’s too much product on their faces. The nights I’ve used F-Balm I’ve played around a little in how I choose to apply it. I’ve applied it as my last step as instructed, I’ve mixed it in with my DE moisturizers, and I’ve applied it as a serum by mixing a little B Hydra with it and applying before my moisturizer. I’ve liked using it as a serum-type product and mixing by mixing it into my moisturizers.Part of me feels like DE has decided to market this as a mask not so much that the formulation makes it a mask or that the ingredients call for it, but rather because if they were to market this as a serum, it would compete with B Hydra. People may choose one over the other or not understand the difference (which is valid).I do think it’s a good addition to my routine and I think it works along side B Hydra very well rather than being a replacement for it. I’m just not going to use 4-5 pumps of this for a single application.

Really great for dry skin. Definitely feels cooling and has helped even out my skin in regards to moisture. I only use two pumps, not four, and even with very dry skin this does the job. I don’t cleanse my face in the morning (just splash with water as suggested by drunk elephant) and this allows the mask to really continue doing its job throughout the day. My face feels firm and plump and literally glows when I wake up after using this.
