« New change is awful! »

They changed the formula and it’s awful! Now it’s supposed to be “shine-free“, but my face is even more oily. My face feels tight, itchy, and not moisturized. I’m extremely disappointed in Kiehl’s for changing a product that wasn’t broken!

I have extremely sensitive/combination/hormonal skin (over 35, 1 year postpartum) and have tried every moisturizer you can name. This is the only thing that keeps my skin clear and happy. I use the Kiehl’s cream at night and the gel during the day.

Be aware of the size. I knew it was 1.7 oz but I didnt think it’d be this small. If this is a moisturizer that you’d use everyday, morning and night, this wouldn’t last you long at all. Waste of money if you ask me.

« Not for oily skin »

This moisturizer was supposed to be for oily skin. It says it’s oil free and supposed to hydrate and be shine control but it did not do that at all!! I have very oily skin and have been looking forever for a product to help get rid of the oiliness. And this product was one of the worst ones I have tried. After applying it, my skin was oily and greasy, not mattified at all. As the day when on it only got worse and even more oily than usual. I used this for about 4 week hoping my skin just needed to adjust and it would get better but it never did. It also was not really very moisturizing. When applying it the consistency was kind of thin and didn’t really absorb into your skin. I used it in the morning after I washed and toned my face. Very disappointed in this product.

I have tried sooo many moisturizers and they always leave my face feeling greasy throughout the day, especially my T zone. I’ve been trying to find the right oil-free option as an alternative but have often found they leave my face feeling like there’s a layer on it, hard to explain but kind of sticky and not soft. This one is going well so far, I absolutely love the cooling sensation and my skin does not get greasy at any point. It’s like mildly sticky at first but it goes away and leaves my skin feeling soft.

Finally!!!! I’m not a greasy pig anymore!!!!! this is the first moisturizer that hasn’t made my face into an oil slick within a few hours. This is a new holy grail so happy with my purchase

Very disappointed with the purchase! First when i applied was good for a week but slowly it started making my skin more oily.Very disappointed with my purchase.

I have to start by saying that I was super skeptical about this moisturizer, and it intensified when I opened the jar and saw the product. Which now I realized was super ridiculous, but it just looks so...underwhelming. And now I know; I was being silly, and underwhelming in the form of no scent or added color is exactly what I needed. I’ve been really liking products that are gentle and fragrance and color free lately. I’ve started tretinoin and so I’m being very gentle with my skin. However, I’m normally a super oily girl. I was worried that this moisturizer wouldn’t be enough to quench my skin, while keeping my oils at bay. Let me just say, WOW! This is so light, and feels great going on. It just glides so smoothly. It absorbs almost instantly, which was kind of weird actually. I was left wondering if I needed to add more, or if I should just go about my day and wait it out. I tried the later, and I was not disappointed. My face never felt sticky, or tight, and it didn’t worsen my oils. On the other hand it didn’t do much to lessen my oil production either. But, it never claimed to, so I wasn’t disappoint with that at all. Ice been using this for a week now, so I feel I have a pretty good idea of it’s effectiveness. I’ve used it under chemical and mineral sunscreen, and it plays well with both. No pilling or weird interactions. I’ve also used it under a layer of sunscreen and light foundation, setting power, and bronzer, all without issue. So far, I like it better than the Clinique 72 Hour Gel that I’ve been using now for a few years. I believe I’ve found a nice replacement for it. I just like how well and throughly the Kiehls absorbs, and so quickly too!

I struggle to find face creams that don’t break me out. Anything with fatty alcohols gives me breakouts and it’s so hard to find the right combination of ingredients. This is the only cream I can use now because I know for sure it works well for my skin. It’s also very moisturizing without leaving a greasy feeling.

« Left my skin dehydrated »

I got this because my skin gets much more oily in the summer months. Unfortunately, it was just not moisturising enough, and made my skin produce more oil because it was dehydrated. Had to return it. I’ll stick with the original.

MY FAVORITE out of the whole line!!! Goes on perfectly for oily, acne-prone skin, especially with other skincare products. I love this cream, it absorbs beautifully into the skin and I would recommend. 10/10!!!!

Never using anything else,I have oily skin and breakout but not with this…I will keep using please don’t change a thing!

I love that this actually absorbs into your skin and doesn’t leave like a residue or feel heavy on your skin. I have used many water gels in this past and this is up there in my favorites. I have never been disappointed by Kiehl’s.

A very light cream that leaves your skin matte and smooth. I like to use it when I’ve done a heavy mask like a mud mask. Also great for wearing under makeup, especially if you will be in the heat.

I used to LOVE this moisturizer. They recently reformulated it, and made it less gel and but still not quite cream. My face is having small breakouts, it feels heavier on my face, and my skin is oily shortly after I put it on. I feel like I need to wait a few minutes for it to dry before I put my SPF on. The new formula is definitely thicker; and if you loved the product before because you had oily skin, then I would not recommend it. I tried to give my skin a few weeks to get used to it, but it just does not work for me anymore.
