Cold Plunge Pore Mask

As a person who suffers from adult acne, I am constantly searching for the product that’s going to clear my face. Hellooooo, who doesn’t want a face smoother than a babies bottom (#goals) !?!? I’ve tried many different face masks, from name brand to drug store. When I heard about Ole Henriksen’s Cold Plunge Pore Mask I was extremely excited. Especially since I was sent the product free for testing purposes (who doesn’t love free things). Guys I’m going to be 100% honest, I’m a big fan of Ole Henriksen’s products but this mask was such let down. The mask has a mild minty sensation, and the cooling agent doesn’t kick in until AFTER your face is rinsed with cold water. I saw absolutely no difference pores size. However, the mask did control my oiliness for a few hours. My overall opinion - This is the perfect mask to wear during a girls night sleepover. The color is beautiful and would look great in selfies. Would I purchase in the future....umm no, especially not for $36.

This mask was everywhere with its iconic blue colour and Ole Henriksen’s skincare is always raved about in the beauty world so if course I expected nothing but the best! It smells like a spa so it’s good for spa night. When you rinse it off, your face feel so refreshed due to its ’cold plunge’ properties. That being said I have used the mask a couple times now and I have not noticed any visible difference in my skin. This mask is ok for spa nights when you want to relax and rejuvenate yourself however I have not noticed any improvements in my skin therefore I cannot reccomend.Disclaimer: I received this mask for testing purposes as a gift from Ole Henriksen and Influenster.

« expectation vs. reality »

There was nothing bad about my experience with this mask, actually the opposite! I figured this was another clay mask with an artificial “cooling sensation”, I was wrong. This is a beautiful oil clay formula that doesn’t crumble when dry, and the color is vibrant and fun! The smell is very spa-like and it feels like a dream when on. Not to mention, I had two cystic, subdermal acne before applying this mask and after, they both came to heads and could be lanced! Thank goodness! Thank you Ole!

« Fun To Use »

This mask is overall fun to use. It goes on smoothly and has a lovely scent and bright color. My boyfriend and I tried it out and enjoyed taking silly pictures with our faces all green. After washing it off though, my face felt a bit dry and not as smooth as some of the other masks I have tried. This could be due to its recommended recipe for oily faces but I had to put lotion on after using and prefer my masks to have a hydrating factor. Overall enjoyed the experience but not what I would typically look for in a mask.

I had a rhinoplasty several months ago so I couldn’t use pore strips or get extractions done and the pores on my nose were getting gross. I only used this mask once and it flushed everything out! My nose never looked so clean. I’m stunned.

« Not Too Shabby »

I received this product free for testing purposes and so far so good! It is a very minty cooling mask but it did not irritate my skin. It dries quickly and it didn’t make my face feel tight as it dried. My pores did look a bit smaller when I took the mask off, but a few hours later they looked just as large as they had before I put the mask on. I’ve been using this for a while and my pores haven’t changed overall, but it is a very enjoyable mask. The product does do what it claims, even though I wish the pore shrinking lasted longer. I would also recommend not using the brush that it came with and use a flat foundation instead. The brush that was included made the mask apply streaky.

« Fun mask to use, not very noticeable results »

I received this product for free from Influenster and I was really excited to use it. I have combination skin - can get oily in the summer and dry in the winter. The product smells great and it dries quickly when you put it on. After I washed it off with cool water, my skin was tingling and felt great - very refreshed and clean. I didn’t notice a difference in my skin really...my pores looked the same and oil returned as normal the next day. It could be because I’m putting it on at night? Who knows... but I’m enjoying using it and overall like how my skin feels after washing it off.

This mask was nothing special for me. I have combination acne-prone skin with larger pores in my T-Zone and I didn’t think it did much to reduce my pore size. It definitely has a nice cooling effect and smell to it. After using for a few weeks, I don’t think it’s worth the high price.

I love how cooling it is to the skin. Skin feels very refreshed. When letting it sit you can feel the toxins being lifted from your skin.

Honestly I just ran out after having this for about 2months it’s truly THE BEST I swear I have HUGGGGGEE pores and it’s an annoying insecurity and it’s the only face mask that minimizes them enough that even the worst foundation can’t make my pores noticeable

« Love at first Use »

I’ve been a fan of this skincare line since I tried their products last year and this mask is no exception. The blue masks the mask so fun but more importantly I was eager to try it for the oil control. I used it during the day and then went out for a few hours and I def felt it help with keeping my skin feeling matte. This definitely will be a great mask to use before applying makeup in the summer.

This mask is so much fun to wear and feels cool and amazing on. I have dry sensitive skin, so the words pore and clay on anything makes me concerned about drying out my skin. This was not drying at all! And it contains one of my favorite ingredients, lactic acid! Lactic acid is amazing for reducing the size of pores and overall toning on the skin. (PS please wear sunscreen if you’re using lactic acid on your skin, it increases your sensitivity to the sun!)

« IF YOU’RE ON THE FENCE, TRY IT! »

Ok, I’ll be honest, I almost didn’t buy this. I expected it to be an overpriced, useless mask. But I’m so happy I was wrong. I used it tonight and I INSTANTLY fell in love. It has a nice cooling sensation, fun blue colour (hello? How can you not take a million selfies with this on?!) and when it started lathering up when I was rinsing it off, I felt like a kid in a candy store - I legit must have said “that’s SO COOL” a million times. Easiest clay mask to wash off I’ve ever used with virtually no mess - I got a little on my white robe but I was able to get it out easily with a wet rag/washcloth. It didn’t dry out my skin and made me feel like my pores were nice and clean. I have a gross pimple and I can see a reduction in the size after using this. I can’t wait to use it again!!! I’m so glad I bought it!

« New Go-To Mask for a Deep Clean »

I switch between this and the Caudalie mask for a good deep cleanse. This one is stronger than the Caudalie one imo so I use less often so I’m not unnecessarily aggregating my skin. My pores definitely look & feel tighter after using this! The cooling sensation does take some getting used to but it’s not a dealbreaker for me.Just a note for some readers saying this led to breakouts - when you use a mask like this, it helps pull out gunk from your pores, so some underlying acne may come to the surface and be visible. This probably means your skin is purging and that’s a good thing! When I first started really treated my acne I went through the same and my dermatologist had to talk me down from my freak outs over my skin getting worse before it got better - but it’s totally worth it. Make sure you got a good derm to consult with!

I really wanted to love this product because of the good reviews.. but oh my god..!!!!! I am shocked !! This happend to my skin only after two times of use.. terrible...I’ve never had this kind of broke out in my life......Can’t wait for stores reopen and i will JUST RETURN IT ASAP
