This is just your run of the mill niacinamide serum that also for some reason has a very strong cucumber scent that can be pretty unbearable if you dislike cucumber. If you’ve never used a niacinamide serum and you start using this one, you will definitely see amazing skin clearing, brightening, and sebum controlling results. But those results would be the same with any niacinamide serum you decided to start using for the first time. If you want a good dupe with cleaner ingredients, that is, something without phenoxyethanol, check out Revolution Skincare’s 15 percent serum which retails at 14 bucks online. That said, most people do NOT need a 15 percent niacinamide serum. The KFDA limits formulations to only 5 percent as there are scientific studies that indicate that any product that has more than that sees a significant reduction in effectiveness. That said, there are plenty of 10 percent serums floating around in the western skincare space. If you are already using The Ordinary’s 10 percent serum and it works for you, just stick with that. You can purchase twelve 1 ounce bottles of that for the same price you’d get for one of these for the same, if not better results. If you want to go a bit more luxe, Paula’s Choice 10 percent booster has a few more ingredients in it that enhance the niacinamide’s effectiveness. Again, based on the week I tested this Sobel Skin serum out, I can say that there is no reason to continue to purchase this when you have so many other more affordable alternatives available to you that are just as effective. Be wary of any new company or product that is gifted to users through Influenster for an honest review.

« MUST HAVE! »

I was looking for a good niacinamide product for a while and got to try this one. I used it consistently, every evening and I’ve noticed such a great difference in my skin. My texture has improved to the point where the amount of foundation I wear per day has become 1 dime size to none at all. Redness in my cheeks has diminished. I originally was going to go with the ordinary, but I believe their strength of niacinamide is much less though in combination with lactic acid. I personally loved this brand and would definitely repurchase. My skin has improved!

I loved this serum. I am obsessed with niacinamide, I was using Alpha H which I love too, but I wanted to try something with a higher %. I have only been using it for a few days so I can’t comment on results, but the texture is just perfect for my skin, very lightweight and absorbs immediately. No smell. If you have oily skin I think you will like it. One star off for the price, the ingredients list just don’t justify it.

This product has helped my large pore acne scarred skin quite a bit in the few weeks I have started using it. I has a nice light gel texture that easily absotbs into the skin and makes it easily to layer with other products. My only criticism is the price is very high, other than that I think this is an excellent product

So I always roll my eyes when reviews start with “I never write reviews for anything...“ But I must say this holds true for me now. This serum has compelled me to write a review. It’s only been 5 days and I’ve already seen about a 30% reduction in the size of a stretched pore on my forehead and some lightening. If the pore is almost non existent in another few weeks I will give this product 5 stars. I’ve had zero irritation but I only spot treat. Can’t wait to see what other wonders come from use of this miracle worker.

I received this product complimentary for testing purposes and I can honestly say that I have seen a difference in my skin after a week of use. Dark sports and acne scars are fading from my face and I’m noticing a more even skin tone. I have been going through a period right now that it is causing my skin to dry out and break out. I have only used for two weeks, so we will see once my skin adjusts.

This serum smells like cucumbers which may or may not bother some people. I’m new to niacinamide though I’ve heard of the benefits of it in your skincare. I’ve used this product for a few weeks but cannot see any noticeable difference in my skin.

So I’ve never specifically sought out niacinamide before because it seemed to always be marketed toward problematic skin and acne, and I’m fortunate enough to have relatively clear skin. However, I am 28 so my concerns are largely focused on fine lines and dullness. I had NO idea niacinamide is such a plumping powerhouse and combined with the other ingredients, this product is mixed to perfection and has me hooked for life. I just started a tretinoin prescription and am in the process of building up my skin’s tolerance to it, so at first I used this product on my off nights. It comes in a metal tin so the gel is kept cool, which feels great when you put it on. It definitely has a strong cucumber scent, but it’s one that I don’t mind, especially since it’s such a cooling gel...it actually adds to the experience in my opinion. I use about two pumps between my face and neck. On my first use, I was absolutely floored at how instantly more plump my face looked and how minimized my pores appeared after the product absorbed. It got to the point where I was honestly more excited for my niacinamide nights than my tretinoin nights. As I kept slowly increasing my tretinoin nights, my skin started to experience that dry and flaky phase, which I was pretty self conscious about (the one single time I’ve been thankful to be quarantined). But then I read a review on here saying that this pairs great with tret, so I gave it a shot....MAGIC. I woke up and all the dry, red, flakey areas around my cheeks and the sides of my mouth were hydrated and evenly toned. Paired with Sobel’s 35% vitamin C serum, I can honestly say my skin has never in my life looked better. I know a lot of people don’t feel the need for makeup these days, but that’s never been me. But I’ve been going on walks around my city without makeup on for days now and I feel SO confident. The price is a little steeper, but I’m saving so much more money by not feeling the need to buy makeup. I can’t recommend this enough.

This gel serum was overall great. I have been pairing this serum at night with the Sobel Skin RX Vitamin C cream during the day. My skin did have a small (~2 weeks) purging stage during the month of use. Based on what this product is to do, I did notice my pores get smaller around my nose, a more hydrated look, and a more even tone overall. In a glass container, so feels really nice. The downfall to this though, would be the pump. I’m not sure if I received a bad product, but the one pump is difficult to have control in how much product to use. I’ve also noticed that it’s almost impossible to use one pump for your face and neck as it just absorbs and dries super quick, not allowing me to rub the product in.

Love the formula. Truly, saw instant results. But just as quickly, the pump stopped working. It’s really frustrating to spend $75 on a serum, only to wind up wasting half the bottle. If the packaging is redesigned, I would happily buy again. But as it is, no. Which again, is a shame. I have eczema, so it’s really hard to find products that work for my skin. THIS WORKED!!! But I can’t throw money down the drain. So frustrating!!!

I am not sure that the Niacinamide gel serum did anything. I tried it over the course of six weeks at night after my cleansing routine. It smelled nice, went on well and did not cause any reactions. However, I can’t recommend it because I couldn’t discern any results.

« Worth the wait! »

I’ve been using this every night for about 2 and a half weeks so far and I have to say that while I’m not immediately seeing a drastic change in my skins appearance I have noticed my skin slightly changing. I use this at night right after cleansing and massage a small amount into my problem areas. It has a light scent that smells vaguely of a sweet cucumber and the texture of it isn’t sticky or watery and absorbs nicely into my skin. All in all I think that it would be unfair to fault this product too heavily for not showing results immediately so I’ll still give this 5 stars just due to the fact that I am seeing a difference and I know that sticking with this product will continue to yield great results. I’m glad I had the opportunity to try this product for free!

I have to admit it’s a stellar product. Non sticky, potent and it smells great (despite having zero fragrance). I was able to see the difference only after one use

I received this complimentary for testing. This has a strong cucumber smell, but it does not linger. I do enjoy the consistency of it, it’s a thin serum and it’s not sticky. I’ve been using this for about 3 weeks now and overall my pores do look smaller! Has not helped with oil control, but I have always heard that niacinamide works best over time, so I hope my oil does get better with continued use. If by the end of the bottle I don’t see more improvement, then I wouldn’t repurchase, only because of the price.

My pores have definitely shrunk, although I don’t know about the hydration it does hydrate immediately upon application but I haven’t noticed a difference in moisture retention. I’ve been using it for 3 weeks I will purchase it again because it does bolster the benefits of his Vitamin C serum which I highly recommend!
