« Oily/Acne prone skin in cold climate »
Have been using Biossance skincare line for 2 years now and it did my skin wonders, so I have a lot of trust in this company. I’ve used the tea tree cleanser (which I loved for my acne prone skin) but it was recently discontinued. So this amino cleanser was recommended to me. I’ve used it now for 2 days AM/PM and I absolutely love how clean and subtle my face feels afterwards. The cleanser lathers great, although I do not wear makeup so I can’t comment on how it performs with a full face on. I do have oily complexion (even in the harsh cold weather) and this cleanser didn’t dry me out but controlled shine all day. I’ve been using it for only 2 days now but i know when a product will work with my skin (or not) within the first day of using. However if any changes, I will update this rating. Furthermore I see comments here saying “it didn’t do anything for my skin (pertaining to acne)”, well this cleanser doesn’t have active ingredients so it wont diminish acne and it doesn’t claim to either. It’s a cleanser to wash away impurities to further prevent acne and balance your PH levels. Speaking of which, I am prone to breakouts once a month and the one thing that allows me to control these breakouts is 1) a good cleanser 2) serums!! Since introducing AHAs/BHAs into my skincare routine I’ve noticed a tremendous difference in my complexion and my friends have noticed too. I love the Biossance line and currently use their Lactic Acid serum which is so gentle on MY skin but at the same time just clears all the gunk out, and I wake up with soft baby skin, honestly a huge game changer. Along with any active serum you must use a good moisturizer to protect your skin barrier, I use Biossance omega cream, a dollop goes a long way! Good luck everyone. Hope this review helps you on your skincare journey.
« Absolutely in LOVE »
For reference, I am in my mid 40s, have normal to dry skin, and sometimes quite sensitive because of the use of prescription Vitamin A.I have been purchasing Biossance’s Squalane Antioxidant Cleansing Oil for years. It is my HG. But when I saw this one, I was curious. It claims being good for dry skin, which I have not found in other foaming cleansers. But this one is amazingPROS:- Great hydrating ingredients: it does what it says: it leaves the skin clean but hydrated. The great ingredients included in this product really help cleaning and not drying.- A little goes a long way. I use a pump to clean my face and neck and it is more than enough (I could use just half and would be sufficient to leave my skin clean) But I always clean my eye makeup with a waterproof cleanser product to remove the mascara. I don’t know how this cleanser will work to remove waterproof makeup but having several oils will probably help in that regard.- It claims to reduce the pores: I have not even that just yet and I didn’t purchase this product with this a the goal so if I get smaller pores over time, I will be even happier!- Good price for the quality- Clean and Planet Positive at Sephora - Vegan and cruelty free.CONS- It doesn’t make a lot of bubbles.- It has strong natural scent that I personally like but it can be overwhelming for those with scent sensitivities. Not great for dry skin. It makes my skin feel super tight. I really wanted to love it but even with moisturizer, my skin felt tight all day. I love the cause and the idea of it but it didn’t work for me. It seemed to clean my skin and everything but I hate my skin feeling tight.
« Love this cleanser!! »
I have tried all the Biossance cleansers and they are all great, but I especially LOVE this one. I have combination skin, so sometimes it’s really dry and other times it’s really oily. This cleanser leaves me with a perfect balance. It never dries out my skin, and leaves it feeling clean (but not oily). I love that you do get a little lather from it, like it does gets a little sudsy (not a ton, but just the right amount). But my favorite part about this cleanser is the scent. Every time I use it I feel like I am getting a facial at a spa. The scent is so relaxing and fresh. I love using it in the morning to start my day! Highly recommend!!
« Look No Further !! »
BUY IT! I have struggled with hormonal acne as a young adult and have tried every product possible when it comes to cleansers. I am the type of person who will scroll through all the reviews and comments before buying a product and I truly love this product. Some cleansers can make your skin oily or super dry but this cleanser is a happy medium. It makes my skin feel clean and soft. I use it in the morning and at night and I love the gel like consistency. It has not only helped clear my acne but as well as helped with acne scars. A must have!!
« not the best… »
I really wanted to love this cleanser, but unfortunately it did not work out at all. The smell is overwhelming, and honestly I think it’s too fragrant and that’s what has been causing breakouts. Even though it’s a wash off treatment, I’ve noticed I’ve been getting really weird breakouts on my jaw and cheeks. My boyfriend actually has been using my cleanser without telling me and he even start developing acne on the lower half of the face too. It’s a shame because I love this brand, but highly recommend not buying this cleanser and going with something else.
« Must try gentle cleanser! »
Purchased this during the VIB sale. This is when I usually restock my products or try something new. Usually trying something new. With restock, I sometime end up buying it for full price. Lovely smell, doesn’t make my skin dry. I’ve been using wash for about a week now religiously day and night. My face feels so soft and smooth. I truly see a difference. I wanted to try a new product as I was using same (First Aid Beauty) for years but with aging skin I thought it was time for a change. I’m happy so far with my change. I truly do recommend giving this a try.
« Gentle and good foaming cleanser »
I’m on my second bottle. This cleanser is very very similar to the Youth to the People Superfood cleanser but I find it is less drying on my skin personally (probably because of the squalane). It’s cheaper than the YTTP cleanser as well and the scent is very mild.
« If YTTP + Summer Fridays had a baby »
This honestly exceeded my expectations! It has the perfect thickness, a little goes a long way, and it has such a refreshing feeling AND scent! So enjoyable to use. It’s not stripping, but it does make my face feel a tad bit dry after using it compared to some other cleansers i’ve used!
« BEST cleanser for dry/combo skin (I'm a guy) »
Best cleanser for people with dry/combo skin. Deep cleans and genuinely minimizes pores in 1 wash without stripping or dry patches even in winter on dry skin. Works year-round; I use it twice daily and even use it to wash my beard. It cleans skin perfectly, cleans beard hair, and the skin underneath without any negative drawbacks.Smells good, not overwelming, not synthetic feelings; it’s honestly kind of a mix of sweet sugarcane and herbal aloe vera. Trust me, you’ll like it. Packaging is a plastic bottle. Pump is amazing and the quantity it outputs is perfect! Pump does not give any issues once the product starts to run low. The ease of use, because of its packaging, makes it a quick grab over other cleansers.Lasts SOO SOO long and it’s arguably the best value-for-money (meaning you get the most amount of quantity for the least possible price) cleanser at Sephora (at least in Canada).OVERALL:9.5/10. I’m a dude with combo/dry skin, fair/tan south asian skin tone. No relatively large skin concerns. Best valued cleanser. Can be used by any skin type but if you have dry or combo skin, you’ll especially love this if you want a gel cleanser but feel like they’re too stripping for you.
« simply not for me. »
just not in love. if you’re looking for something very very gentle, clean and lightweight this is for you. i’ve been using it for a week now and it’s not for me. i prefer something that foams up or produces a richer lather, the scent is a little too ‘green’, & i don’t feel all that cleansed after use. All in all if you have skin that is mad at you, or sensitive skin, this might be more up your alley.
« not for dry or acne-prone skin »
i love biossance but this cleanser doesn’t remove makeup (especially mascara) very well. it’s also very drying if you have dry/sensitive skin. im acne prone and don’t think this helped my skin very much. ended up returning
« love it »
Says it’s for dry skin type, but I have oily and acne prone skin and this helped with my acne. I needed a basic “plain” face wash that didn’t have any harsh ingredients and this helped with my skin tremendously!! Probably the only face wash I’ve used that didn’t leave my skin feeling stripped after using. Oily skin needs hydration too. I highly recommend this for oily skin.
« not great for fragrance sensitivity »
I love this brands cream but I was disappointed to find out that other items from this brand have fragrance in it (Citronellol, Linalool, Limonene) which Sephora doesn’t recognize as fragrance for some reason.
« Not for very dry skin »
I do not understand all the five star reviews, because my experience was exactly the opposite. If you have oily or normal skin I think this cleanser would do. but if you have dry to very dry skin, this is not the product. I tried this product for a week and every time I used it I found that my skin became even drier and felt extremely tight. I used it just as instructed on the package. it did cleanse my skin nicely, but stripped it of its natural oils. I am left wondering if this actually has any squalane at all. I was so excited to use this, but bummed now, especially considering the high price point.
