« Good stuff - give it a try »
I read the other reviews here and I must say;Special cleansing gel is known by all to be Dermalogica’s most drying cleanser. Why someone who says they have dry skin would opt for that, along with their lightest, least moisturizing cream - makes me think this person maybe really has oily sensitive skin.I truly have dry skin (had severe eczema as a kid), and have been using Dermalogica since I was a teenager (now 44). I’m not prone to breakouts thanks to the dry skin, but I can get legit patches of rashy dryness if I’m not careful and I’m outside a lot. I used their essential cleansing solution for many years and was pretty annoyed when it was discontinued. I even tried using Cetaphil which was very drying. Reluctantly tried this product and was very shocked that it even removed leftover eye makeup withOUT drying my skin. The smell isn’t bug spray but it’s admittedly not the greatest. It washes off and doesn’t leave any smell behind (and it’s really not very strong). I also use the daily microfoliant, followed by their active toner (which I could go either way on, and prob won’t buy again), followed by skin smoothing cream. I also just started using their much thicker super rich repair cream at night. My super dry flaky skin is - amazingly soft and no longer flaky - even in the Winter. Very pleasantly surprised and pleased.
« Great for a long run and sensitive skin »
I love this product. My skin is sensitive and many face wash products just reject my skin. My mom and I have use this product for awhile and in fact we are still using it now. It’s doing its jobs and you dont feel a lot of chemicals while using the face wash.
« Holy Grail For Dry Skin! »
This is my must have cleanser! It is a huge improvement from their old formula. Essential Cleanser felt hydrating, but did not feel like it was cleaning. Intensive Moisture Cleanser gives the sensation of a deep cleanse but the hydration you need from a cream. The smell is much lighter than what other people make it out to be. Once it dissolves on you face you cannot really smell it. Leaves your skin looking and feeling amazing!
« Worth it for dehydrated/dry skin!! »
this product is AMAZING!! I have two other products from dermalogica that I use with this. Using this cleanser and their daily microfoliant has helped with dryness and texture!
« Good Cleanser »
I’ll start off by saying I love Dermologica products! As an esthetician I thought why not try this? I suffer from dry skin in the winter months. For starter’s it cleanses very well. However when I pair it with the active moisturizer I end up breaking out. I use the active moist because after I cleanse my face with the intensive moisture cleanser it’s a little dry. So as fair as it goes for my skin it’s a no. But that’s the great thing about this line you can customize your skin care needs. For me I’ll just stick to the special cleansing gel.
« affordable staple »
this has been a staple in my skincare routine for about a year. i’ve tried cleansers from sk-ii and perricone md; this is better in my opinion. very hydrating for oily skin and not too drying. my skin always feels extremely clean afterwards. i couldn’t find the cleansing gel in stock anywhere so i had to make the switch to this and it works great. the bottle lasts me about two months when i use it twice daily. would definitely recommend if your looking for an affordable cleanser.
« BUG SPRAY SCENTED FACE WASH »
This is the worst face wash I have EVER tried. First off it smells like very potent bug spray or a citronella candle. Second, it leaves a very greasy film on your face that is difficult to rub off. Third, it’s expensive. I would not use this if they were giving it away for free!!! AVOID!!!!!!!
« Breakout and not cleansing. »
Broke out after a few days of using this in a way I have never ever broken out. It made the texture of my skin rough and bumpy and I got no less than three pimples. I researched and couldn’t find any information on this. Definitely not as good as my last cleanser which Sephora doesn’t sell. I am very annoyed I had to join Insider to leave a review about a purchase.
The best moisturizing cleanser! Never dries out my skin like other ones!
« Good for dry skin »
Most other cleansers, including the Special Cleansing Gel by Dermalogica, are too drying for me. This is perfect for my dry, sensitive, acne-prone skin, but it is expensive for a cleanser. More affordable cleansers from First Aid Beauty and La Roche-Posay also work well for me.
« Awesome cleanser for aging skin »
I love this cleanser, works awesome with my Luna cleansing device I think dermologica is becoming one of my favorite skin care lines
