« This dupe cleanser is not worth it »
Actually it’s a very good product, I’ve used up one whole bottle but I’m not sure if people are aware that this Enzyme Cleanser has the exact same ingredients in the exact same order as the Barbor Enzyme Cleanser, also a well loved German brand but except it was founded like 50 years ago. For the people who can’t stand the cost (me included) the Barbor powder cleanser is the exact same....I don’t really don’t notice any differences when it comes to performance, besides the fact that it’s half the price..
« SEVENTY FIVE DOLLARS?!? »
I got a sample of this from Sephora. I enjoyed the cleanser a lot. I have normal to dry skin and it works beautifully to remove any dry skin or patches from my face without causing my skin to dry out or get tight after cleansing. It’s a white powder that you can add as much or as little water as you’d like to to make it more or less exfoliating. It’s nice and exfoliating while still feeling creamy. HERE’S MY ISSUE…as soon as I used it the 1st time I thought “this reminds me exactly of a cleanser I already have!” I looked in my cabinet and pulled out my Babor Enzyme Cleanser. This has always been a favorite of mine and a staple in my skincare routine. I tested them back to back and they performed EXACTLY the same! Next I went online and looked up the ingredients because they seemed so incredibly similar. That’s when I found out they are literally THE SAME EXACT product! Babor is a German skincare company that’s been around since the 1950s. (Barbara Sturm is also German) Babor makes this exact product in the same exact size and sells it for $30-$35, depending on where you order from. Why would anyone pay $75 for the same thing??? Especially considering Babor is the orginal product??? Babor is not a Barbara Sturm “dupe,” it is the OG!
I really like the product, it works well on my combo skin and prevent some breakouts, but IT IS RIDICULOUS that the BOTTLE comes a little empty like what? I’m paying $75 for this and you are basically not giving me the amount of product that I should be getting. That’s why I’m giving 3 starts. Other than that the product works really well.
I have sensitive skin and I usually, I use Tatcha rice cleanser. This strips my skin to the uncomfortable “squeaky“ clean feeling. The next morning I had mini break outs. I quit use for a few days and tried again with the same result. Would not recommend for more dry, sensitive skin. Also, for the price, just go with Tatcha.
« So fresh n so clean »
I splurged on her entire clarifying line, including this enzyme cleanser and this is definitely one of her hero products! There is a sight tingle, not in any way uncomfortable, and it left my face feeling so clean and fresh yet no tightness. I used to use tatcha rice enzyme powder and also the enzyme powder by a more pacific, but this one is way better and cleaner ingredients in my opinion. *Tip if you email Barbara Sturm about what you are looking for in skincare a rep will give you a free consultation via email. Also, take advantage of the Sephora Sale, I never see BS products go on sale!
« Not as good as my previous enzyme powder »
I’ve got a sample of this cleanser with my recent sephora order and let me say I’m disappointed. This is pretty basic product for the price. It makes my skin clean but doesn’t provide that marvelous exfoliating effect (and baby soft skin) I expect from the enzyme powder. Btw Babor works much better and is half the price of this one.
This has exactly the same ingredients as the Babor enzyme cleanser which is $34 on Amazon
« Talc product »
This is not worth the price. It’s basically just talc. Please don’t use Talc, ever.
« A gentle exfoliator sensitive skin. »
I put a little of this fizzy powder on a warm washcloth when I want a deeper clean after using too much sunscreen or traveling. It gives my skin a true cleansing/polishing without making my skin feel rubbed raw, like many other exfoliators. The Dr. Sturm powder reminds me of Tatcha Rice Polish. The Sturm enzyme powder stays dry in the canister until I shake it out, unlike the Tatcha that had to be scooped out and often left the remainder damp and “fizzed out”. It is concentrated; a little is all that is needed to deeply clean your skin.
I read the review by vvleigh and purchased Babor instead. I saved a ton of money and love the product. Thanks to the reviewer.
« Awesome »
I mix this with the Tatch Rich Polish in the green bottle and the combo is amazing! Does my skin wonders. This is definitely worth the price tag, and made me interested in trying more from the brand!
« Yesss! »
LOVE! I‘ve been using this cleanser for 5 months now, and just wow. I’ve spent lots of hours researching products, and of course buying and spending who knows how much on products. Finally found the cleanser that works for me, that actually has made a difference in my skin. Lathers wonderfully, and leaves my skin feeling good after-not tight, or dry. Can say after 5 months of consistent use—7 days a week, my skin looks clear, smooth, and has tamed my oily combination skin.
« Costly but likeable enzyme cleanser »
I have not great skin, dry and acne-prone, that I’ve had for 15 years. I’m also pretty unmotivated, so no 10 step routines yet for me. But I am willing to spend the money for quality products with clean ingredients. I use this cleanser about once a week. I wouldn’t call it a miracle product, but it makes my skin feel lovely, and I haven’t had any horrendous overabundance of whiteheads on my chin during my period since I started using it. I will more than likely be buying more when I run out.
« Squeaky Clean »
Didn’t irritate my skin. Left it feeling clean and taut. Will order the full size of this. Similar to the enzyme cleanser from AmorePacific.
« great way to exfoliate sensitive skin IMO »
Got this as a sample and have been using it for a little more than a week. I have very dry, flaky sensitive skin. I use it in the morning or as a second cleanse after removing makeup. my skin feels so so smooth and hydrated. It has been such a struggle to find something that doesn’t dry me out but still gives me the exfoliating properties I need. This plus the hyaluronic acid is just amazing! Ridiculously expensive, like I don’t know how they sleep at night expensive, but it really works for me.
