If I could give this 0 stars I honestly would. I got this cleanser as my bday present from Sephora and I wish I had gotten something else. When I first used this cleanser I loved how clean my skin felt, and it didn’t cause me to break out. A few days later, I noticed extremely dry, flakey patches all over my cheeks. This was the only change I made in my daily skin care regime, so I was sure it was my new cleanser that was stripping my skin and drying it out so badly to the point where I’m still dealing with these dry patches a week later. Not to mention my skin is combination-oily so I can only imagine how bad this would be for people with dry skin.

I have been cursed with extremely sensitive skin. I’m very fair skin, I get the redness in my t-zone it’s so annoying. I was given a sample as a birthday gift from Sephora. I tried this & was amazed by how quickly it takes your makeup off, especially the stubborn mascara & eyeliner. Let’s talk about how my redness was like instantly reduced when I dried my face and than applied the Protini Polypeptide Cream (also sample birthday gift from Sephora) I’m telling you if you have that sensitive skin where even when a strand of hair hits your face and you’re breaking out.... this cleanser and that Protini Cream are miracle workers!!! It’s worth every penny, I’ve had to return products that leave my skin burning, red and irritated. This will forever me my skin routine. FINALLY A PRODUCT THAT SOOTHES AND NOURISHES!!

I use and love other DE products but this cleanser didnt work for me at all. I never had a problem skin, no acne but within less than a week my forehead broke out along with bad irritation. I stopped using it and my skin eventually cleared out, which proved that unfortunately the cleanser wasnt for me. Had to return it.

« Made me a Believer »

This cleanser is AMAZING. Leaves my skin feeling clean with no makeup residue left behind. Other cleansers have left my skin too dry, but not this one. I noticed a difference in my skin almost right away. This was this first Drunk Elephant product I ever purchased. It made me a believer and now I use the entire line of Drunk Elephant products.

The formula didn’t work well for me. I had dry patches on my cheekbone area. My t-zone looked clean and shine-free. However, a few whiteheads have appeared after using this product for 2 1/2 weeks. The acne disappeared after I stopped using this cleanser.

This is my go to cleanser! I really.enjoy this jelly like texture and the way it spreads over my skin, breaking up my sunscreen and removing impurities from throughout the day. My skin is always left feeling clean, but not stripped or dry.

Truly gives your skin this glow after using it . I’ve never experienced a glow from a CLEANSER. I mean WOW. Cleaned off all of my eye makeup too , not a trace left. It did leave my skin just SLIGHTLY dry ( I could feel the slight tightness). Although , I was able to go to bed without a moisturizer and still have some sense of moisture and vibrancy . I’d say it’s worth the pricey tag z

« Dark pores are gone! »

I received this cleanser as a deluxe sample in my birthday gift. I have sebaceous filaments in my nose that resemble blackheads/dark pores, and after a few days of use, they were almost completely gone. Nothing has EVER been able to get rid of them. I use acids, retinoids, vitamin C, masks, you name it. This is obviously a very deep cleanser, so it’s important to moisturize very well afterward. However, it has had a huge impact on my pores as well as some cystic acne. I would recommend this in a heartbeat to anyone who isn’t overly sensitive or dry.

Ok, I received this product as the birthday gift from Sephora along with the moisturizer and I can honestly say this is the worst cleanser I have ever tried. After using it just one time I developed the most painful cystic acne on my forehead and all over my t-zone. I continued to use it because I thought that I was just getting acne from something else but the acne continued to get worse. I decided it might be this cleanser so I stopped and literally within like 2-3 days my skin was completely back to normal. Long story short, If you have acne prone skin—I DO NOT recommend!

I have had really annoying acne and scars for the past six months, and I swear the only thing that managed to clear my skin was this product. By far the best cleanser I have used. For those who complain it is drying, DE does advise you to use this at night and not really cleanse in the morning. « Broke me out »

I got the Littles set and there was a deluxe sample size of this set in there. I normally use Asian Beauty skincare products but since a few friends were raving so much about Drunk Elephant I decided to finally swallow the exorbitant cost and give this brand a whirl. I started off by washing off my sunscreen with my usual cleansing oil, dried off my face and then applied and massaged this jelly cleanser into my skin. It felt nice for sure, but the issue came the morning after when I noticed an angry red pimple beginning to form on my cheek. I immediately stopped using this and switched back to my usual routine. A week later I tried it again, and once more a pimple starting forming. This cleanser simply isn’t for my face.I’m not sure what it is about this product that broke me out but I know it’s not for me. What I found a little confusing is that when I told my friends about my experience, they responded that I wasn’t using it correctly since I have to use a full skincare routine of DE in order for it to work. That is marketing talk. As a veteran of having tried whole lines of products before, no it does not always work that way because everyone’s skin is different.

My face felt tight and dry even after heavily moisturizing, and I began breaking out in places I never do. At first, I thought this was just my skin reacting to new products, but my skin kept getting worse. I had high hopes for this cleanser, but it didn’t work for me.

Being very particular about my skincare routine, I read all the reviews before purchasing this. I really wanted to love it, as it’s a clean product and had great reviews (even a good review from a personal friend who used it). However, I ended up returning it because it was drying out my skin and making me break out along my forehead. I have very sensitive skin and even products meant for sensitive/dry skin can give me reactions. This was a bit too drying for me. I hadn’t changed anything else in my skincare routine, so I narrowed the cause of the acne down to this product (as I see others have also commented on). I gave it two stars because it has convenient packaging, it has a neutral smell, and a little bit of product goes a long way. Unfortunately it wasn’t for me, but it could be great for others, depending on your skin type.

I received this as part of the free birthday gift and I love it! I have sensitive skin with occasional breakouts, and this totally cleared my skin! My skin was not irritated afterwards and felt so smooth and clean.

« Not for dry skin »

Similar to what others have written, this product is not for those on the dry skin end of the spectrum. I was so excited to get this and for my sensitive skin have consistently been pleasantly surprised by DE as a brand as my skin has handled it really well! However within a week of use my skin has gotten scaly and dry, moving into itchiness late in the day, so sadly I’ll be returning this product
