« Not quite an oil, but it's good... »
I’ve been using this 2-in-1 cleanser for almost a week now and so far, I’m mostly pleased. It does remove at least 98% of my full face of makeup, leaving only a smidge of “stay all day“ liner from my tightline/lash area. My only complaints are that the word oil is misleading as it doesn’t feel at all like an oil (in the traditional sense) nor did I see any oils listed in the ingredients - which wouldn’t be a big deal except its literally called an “oil“ cleanser and can leave me a tiny bit dry. But to be fair, I do have dry skin to start with. so I almost always feel like I need to serum and moisturize right after cleansing anyway. Overall, I would definitely recommend this if you really don’t like the greasy part of a double cleanse or really need the 2-in1 time saving option. It’s not AMAZING, but it is nice and it works well.
« Not my favorite »
I really like first aid beauty and have used multiples of their products. I was hopeful for this product as an oil based cleanser and could combine that with their regular cleanser to make a FAB 2-step cleanser. This is not really an oil cleanser... it’s more of a gentle gel cleanser. I didn’t find it to be effective against water-proof makeup like mascara or brow pomade. There are better oil-based cleansers however true to their nature this does not irritate your skin.
« burned my eyes, kind of drying »
This is not really like a cleansing oil. It is a gel texture that removed tinted moisturizer and my other light makeup easily, however it was having trouble with my (non waterproof) mascara. Even worse, when I added water to emulfisy it for the step two cleanse, it started burning my eyes. My skin looked a bit dehydrated afterwards, although not irritated. I feel like a teenager and/or or someone who doesn’t wear eye makeup would like this, but it’s just a miss for me. I can’t imagine picking this over a cleansing balm. For my fellow sensitive skin people, I would highly recommend Clinique’s fragrance free cleansing balm.
I love FAB but I didn’t love this product. It’s not an oil at all, it’s a gel so it has a weird consistency when trying to use as a cleansing oil. It did okay at removing eye makeup, but it felt very drying and stripping. My skin was squeaky clean (in a bad way) even while rinsing it off. It felt weird and bad for my skin barrier so I returned it.
« Not a cleansing oil »
Did not remove makeup or mascara. This is not a cleansing oil.
« Not For Waterproof Mascara »
I really wanted to like this makeup remover since I love so many of FAB’s other products. This was a no for me. I do love the pump and the consistency. Although it removed my face makeup just fine, it does not remove my waterproof mascara. I have to double cleanse with this and it’s still not removed. I have noticed my eyelashes fall out more when I use this product (I’m assuming it’s because I am more abrasive than normal since it’s not easily removing my makeup). I’m sure it is fine for non waterproof mascara but I do not recommend for waterproof peeps.
usually love FAB products bc of how gentle they are, but this one kept irritating my skin. after use, it would create a burning sensation around eyes and cheeks. will be returning :(
« It’s Not Me, It’s You »
I don’t know what to say about this guy-he’s just not satisfying in any way. Not particularly great at removing makeup, not quite nourishing or balmy feeling, doesn’t leave you feeling cleansed, doesn’t have a nice texture or milky quality. Like-I’m just so exited to finish this bottle so I can finally move on with my life. There are too many great cleansers out there to settle for this.
« it’s fine, but you can use this alone »
I’ve been using this product for a few months and I was hoping this would be better than it ended up being. This doesn’t easily remove makeup. I have to use it twice to remove most of my eye makeup & I ALWAYS follow up with a normal cleanser to make sure all the make up is removed and my skin is clean. I’m a big fan of this brand, but this is not my favorite product of theirs.
« Too drying »
Love FAB and was looking for a new first cleanse, thought this would be great. However, it left my face feeling extremely dry and tight and did not remove water proof mascara. Would not repurchase and will be passing onto a friend with less dry skin.
« Another win from FAB! »
This gel to oil cleanser starts off as a lightweight gel that transforms to an effective oil cleanser. I use about three to four pumps and massage onto dry skin. I find that it thoroughly removes sunscreen and makeup. When water is added, it turns to a very light sudsy texture and rinses away effortlessly. My skin is left impeccably clean and soft but perhaps a bit tight, although I have very dry + dehydrated skin and live in an extremely dry climate so I just follow up with lots of nourishing & hydrating products…I love that there’s Colloidal Oatmeal included which is so calming to dry and/or irritated skin!Safe for sensitive skin and is formulated without any artificial fragrances - I find there to be no scent at all. Overall, a very worthy cleansing oil!
« A miss for FAB »
I love FAB but this product was a miss for me. I double cleanse daily at night to remove SPF and makeup if I’m wearing it. The instructions specify to apply a few pumps of this cleansing oil to dry skin, rub it around, and then wet your skin and rinse off. It’s hard to spread around on dry skin, and then when I wet my hands it rinses basically all the product off of my hands. It technically works, but doesn’t visibly seem as effective as other cleansing oils/balms that I’ve used before. One pro is that it doesn’t irritate my eyes like many balms/oil cleansers do, so if you’re sensitive to that this may work for you. Otherwise this is too expensive for too little results for me.
« Face wash not cleansing oil, stings eyes »
This is not a cleansing oil. Look at the ingredient list. It is a basic face wash. Can’t remove makeup around the eyes because it stings so much.
« A miss »
Was really rooting for this to work:( consistency is like a sticky serum and doesn’t feel like an oil cleanser at all. I usually LOVE FAV products but this is provably the first one that I would return. I had barely any make up on and non-waterproof mascara and it did not get removed
« Best First Step Cleanser »
I’m absolutely obsessed with this cleanser. It’s perfect alone as an only cleanser on a no makeup day. It leaves zero residue behind, which I’ve never had an oil cleanser do. As a first cleanse, it takes off an amazing amount of makeup and skincare, including stubborn SPFs. It’s still hydrating so it doesn’t leave you feeling stripped for as much as it cleans. It’s perfect for my sensitive skin. Cannot recommend enough!
