« Better than Laniege »

I disagree with the review slightly below mine - this lip mask is 10x better than Laniege, and I was an avid Laniege user (went through 3 jars and 1 tube version). At first, I was a little disappointed with the size of the product for the price (being used to the larger Laniege), but you only need the tiniest amount, and it moisturizes so much better which for me justifies both size and price. Laniege feels more like a coating that doesn’t really sink in - just a wad of silicone (dimethecone) that smells good and nothing else. I feel like Sugar’s actually penetrates my lips, feels lighter, and looks better as it diminishes lines similar to the Lawless filler gloss without stickiness or heaviness. I also love that this lip mask is clean, and still smells nice. Overall, I would purchase either this or Bite’s lip mask over and over again, with Sugar now being my top choice! :)

For a ton of reasons, I did not care for my lips for like 2 decades, so suddenly when I started caring 3 months ago, my situation was not quickly fixed. My first step was switching from chapstick and lip balms to oil... but I was disappointed with how bad lipstick looked. I had some patches you can see in my photo that would just never get soft. I tried exfoliating them with a physical scrub (like a gritty sugar stick) and although that initially seemed to work, it could not remove the “deep chap“ and ultimately it only lifted the edges and made everything worse. Plus the scrub hurt. Somehow one day it occurred to me to try exfoliating with 1 drop of my Lactic Acid serum (made by The Ordinary, so it’s not the crazy strength that some YouTubers are literally causing chemical burns with). I applied this low potency Lactic Acid for about 3 minutes once per week for 3 weeks and FINALLY oh my gosh THIS was how my lips finally stopped having awful patches of stuck-on, chapped skin. For the first time in years, they looked “clean“ if that makes sense.But the Lactic Acid made them feel so DRY. I was applying oil every 5 minutes for hours and it still didn’t feel like “enough“ so that was when I shelled out for one of these lip mask products. Yes Fresh’s lip mask is a few dollars more than Laneige’s... but a teeny smidge goes so far. It is crazy how little I need. It could definitely last 9-12 months, depending on usage frequency. The smell is lovely. My lips feel SO conditioned in the morning. If you have super old chapped skin stuck on like I did, this WILL NOT exfoliate that... but once you get them exofoliated, this helps a ton to keep everything as plump and happy as possible.

I don’t understand this product. It actually made my lips more dry.

I wanted so badly to love this mask. I’d been trying Laneige masks for a while and liked them okay but found them sticky and not very hydrating. (Over hyped imo). I used this a Fresh mask couple of times and initially LOVED the feel on application as well as smell- lightly sweet and thick but not sticky. However after a week of straight use, it began to give me breakouts right on my lip line. Never in my 35 years have I ever broken out around my mouth. It was bizarre and gross. I stopped using for a few days, let them clear up and tried it again- 3 more zits right on the fine line where my face meets delicate lip area… so I know this is unfortunately the culprit. Sadly I will be returning because it irritated my mouth line. Otherwise it was a fantastic product.

Yum!! This stuff smells amazing! Kind of like lemon meringue pie? Love it. Prefer it to my LANIGE lip mask which I used for years. I can already tell this one does a better job hydrating my lips. It also feels better on my lips. Not quite as goopy at LANIGE. Try it you’ll love it!

I have chronically dry and often chapped lips. As a longtime fan of the Laneige lip sleeping mask (which I have in multiple sizes and flavors), I was skeptical that this product could be better, but since I have been using Fresh lip balms and lip treatment in stick form during the day for decades and this lip mask had such great reviews, I decided to pick one up during the VIB Rouge sale and give it a try. I’m so glad I did!This lip treatment is luxurious and silky without feeling like Vaseline, has only a very faint (and nice) smell, and has good staying power. The second I apply this treatment, my dry, taut lips start to relax and (silently) say, “Ahhh!!!” When I wake up, there is no residue, but my lips feel soft and supple. I often apply a very thin layer to my lips in the morning, as well as a thicker layer at night.The jar comes with a small applicator designed to be stored between the cap and the inside cover/cap liner. This means I can sanitize the applicator with alcohol after every use, and I don’t have to worry about keeping it clean and dust-free or losing it. The lid liner/inside cover also has a decent sized tab that is set at an angle, which makes it a cinch to remove without touching the top edge of the jar (also good for keeping the contents sanitary).This will be replacing my Laneige lip sleeping mask and my lip balms from now on!

I have to say this is really better than Laniege.... I got a sample & saw a VAST improvement in the natural plumpness of my lips the next morning.I began to wear less and less lip products during the day. Even though I have a jar full of laniege, I went ahead & bought a full size of this becasue I saw how my lips began to get dry again... espcailyl with winter coming. I highly recommend.

I used the Laniege lip masks for a long time, but I’ve converted to this. It feels hydrating for longer and it feels less waxy and “goopy” for lack of a better term. If you don’t care about missing the flavors, this is a better product.

I am a big lip mask. I also tend to take lip mask reviews with a grain of salt because honestly, some chapped lips can only be fixed with drinking enough water. But whatever, here goes my review. I have tried nearly every fan favorite lip mask at Sephora. I love the fresh sugar lip balms. This mask isn’t it. It’s a weird consistency; it’s a bit stiff to apply. It’s a lot less product than what I would expect compared to other lip mask products, also. Though it melts well, moisture doesn’t last more than 40 minutes, so I find myself reapplying this a couple times each evening. Maybe that’s fine? Maybe I’m spoiled and my expectations for lip mask longevity has been ruined forever by Bite and Laneige? Regardless, this is who I am and I wouldn’t recommend this. If you, like me, we’re interested if this was in some way better than other popular lip masks, that would be a no. I’ll be going back to Bite agave’s lip mask, or the Laneige lip mask.

I usually would never pay this much for a lip mask but one day my lips and the corners of my mouth were painfully chapped and split. My friend offered me some and the next day my lips were soft and soothed. A literal night and day difference. I immediately drove to Sephora to purchase my own.

I have persistently dry lips due to several factors. My dry lips often affect my sleep. This lip mask is perfect for me. The scent/flavor is incredibly light, almost nonexistant, and pleasant. The treatment itself is thick enough to last until I can actually fall asleep, while being comfortable and light enough not to be gross or bothersome. I know nothing will ever cure my lips, but this mask helps me to be able to sleep comfortably and keep my lips well moisturized far into the next day. I have had no cracking, bleeding, snake shedding, or any otherwise horrible dry lip issues since I started using this mask every 1.5 nights. No bad side effects either! Just soft happy lips.

Hi I’m lip product junkie.. sorry.. I’ve tried a zillion brand still sitting in my drawers. You name it..whomever love chapstick go for beeswax brand the best ,it’s cheapest n very less chemical in it n for all ages(4 to 80).. or farmacy $14 with royal jelly in it to. For leinge goers no comment some love n cult of scent n berries. Bite beauty yeah also cult but too sweet though with agave .. pricy at this point just some simple moist n hydra go for rose almost cause with petroleum which was use by generation $10. Well to go with Vaseline can be used all over n is v.cheap for any age…hmm the point is marketer always bring new form w improved flavour n ingredient. .. for Sugar it’s okay good works fine for few nights cause it’s sugar content not that favourable to everyone like bite beauty formular. Pricey n less volume. I would prefer the new belief lip mask so far is the best with 5 star..wait n see..

I wanted to give 1 star if I could but ended up giving 2, anyways, the reviews are so high, so I decided to give it a shot because my lips are super dry during winter. It’s so dry that I started looking for a bit more expensive products, but this one ended up making my lips dry even more. I thought it just didn’t work for me but the same happened to my sister, she was like, “this lip mask dried my lips,“ I never had any issue with lip masks before, either they worked or just did nothing on my lips but this one just, sigh, I ended up getting a lip mask from more pacific

I am so surprised this product has so many 5-star reviews. After using this product consistently for over 2 weeks, I have seen ZERO results. I’ve also been applying multiple times per day and a nice, thick application at night. My lips are just as chapped now as they were before I started using this product. At this price point I expected a lot better.

So far so good. I got this as soon as that winter dryness set in, and I see a pretty drastic different after just a few days. I almost always have dry lips unless I’m super, super consistent about applying lip balm and hydrating. I can tell this is hydrating a lot deeper overnight and is impacting how my lips feel throughout the entire day— definitely recommend for anyone who experiences lots of allergies/colds and is cornered into mouth breathing.
