Pros: Gorgeous packaging Sticky yet thin, not globbyCon’s:Super hard to open the tiny packaging, I had to stop closing it tight because I couldn’t get it back open.The product is quite expensive for so little of product in comparison to other lip masks.The actual formula is nice, but it does not last all night. I woke up with the product totally gone with dry lips. The formula is like a sticky gel that smooths quickly and is very shiny, and if it had long lasting power it would make a great daytime lip shine as well as night, but unfortunately it only lasts for like an hour before my lips feel dry with sticky residue.I wanted to love this lip mask as it is new and from a high end brand, but I think the Laneige lip mask is much better due to price, larger amount and the fact it stays on all night. Also, Glossier’s balm lasts all night on my lips, so I will be returning this item. I wanted it to work and it’s so cute and the formula is so silky, but it is not the best and it’s price and size is claiming that it is.

Unfortunately when Tatcha decided to reintroduce this product they also messed with the formula, adding an oil to supposedly make it more moisturizing. Well, I had the opportunity to compare them side by side and all they did was make it stickier and LESS moisturizing. The old mask melted on contact with your liips; it was like a sheet mask for the lips. This new version is much thicker and sits on top of the lips rather than sinking in. It pains me to say it but Tatcha took an exquisite product and turned it into an average lip mask.

Love. I usually use the Laneign for my lip mask and my Sephora girls from downtown Disney Anaheim recommended this new TATCHA lip mask. I love it so much more than the Laneign because it’s a gel type of lip mask the other ones then to have a look of chapstick. Where this one is a gel. It comes with the signature spoon. A little goes a long way. Highly recommend.

This is my first time leaving a review but read along for why you can stop looking for lip masks here! I have tried both the original and Red Camelia Kissu lip mask and they are GOLD! When I first tried the original, I did a test of two weeks of the Kissu and then the La Neige lip mask. When I say test- I walked to and from work (45 min each) in -40 weather. -40 is where Celsius and Farenheit meet and let me tell ya, it’s way past freezing. Tatcha outshined La Neige in longevity- I didn’t even need to reapply when I got to work! I know it can feel a bit sticky but the hydration to the lips is unreal. I personally like the feeling and it looks like your lips are almost a bit plumper (I’m guessing the hydration). I have naturally dry lips even though I drink a ton of water and this lip mask leaves me waking up with lips as soft as pillows. I do find the red camelia to feel a little less hydrating over time but I also feel like I’m way more chapped this winter so could just be me. I like the colour of the original better but I think the red camelia will look amazing with a tan in the summer. Here’s a PRO TIP: personally I don’t like lip products that I have to touch the stickiness or clean the wand so if you’re like me, hit up amazon to get some empty twist lip gloss appliers and use a mini ziplock to add the lip mask to it for a gloss on the go!! (You can scoop any leftover mask from the ziplock to not waste any. I find I can fill 3 applicators in the size pictures). Nothing better than having this mask on hand at any time!!! Buy it, love it, thank me later.

« Unique Gel Lip Mask »

I’ve been using this for over a year since the first launch and have been begging Tatcha to bring it back. It’s a very unique gel texture that over the past year I have yet to find a dupe for. It has a slight peach sent and a hint of a peachy taste on the lips but it’s not strong at all. It feels very cushiony on the lips and stays on for hours if applied before bed. Wears off if you eat or drink like most balms do. The Laneige moisturizes for a few hours on me, but this mask keeps them hydrated all day. I love both but the Tatcha is my holy grail. I’ve tried almost every lip balm out there and this one feels the best and has such a unique formula that I don’t care to use others now that it’s back and permanent! Yay!

This stuff is UNREAL!!!! I applied a thin layer to my lips and within a few minutes they became so hydrated and plump!!!!!!! Took away my chapped lips and all. Will most definitely stock up on this.

Ridiculous that a) people get free products and then asked to write reviews and b) they are reviewing the old formulation when it has changed. Quite simply, this mask is terrible. I feel robbed. You get way less than the laniege and pay way more (the laniege blows this out of the water and in my humble opinion is the absolute best although I’m still searching!) this is sticky and sits on top of your lips instead of actually healing them. My lips are actually drier after wearing this than before! And for that price and reason, that’s why I feel robbed. This was the same experience I had with the biossance lip mask by the way.

Nice lip mask — spatula is a cute touch but useless imo as it doesn’t attach/secure to the container so it is just loose and something that will get lost and or fall to bottom of drawer and therefore not be sanitary. FYI - you are getting less than 1/2 of what you get with the Laneige sleeping lip mask and are paying almost 50% more - it’s Tatcha so that is to be expected. All in all a good lip mask - I would t call it a game changer though .... if it’s not available or too much for your budget there are definitely other ones just as good out there!

I’ve been on the search for a lip mask to use before I fall asleep. I received a sample of the Tarte Sea Jelly Lip Mask and I thought that that was gold. Lo and behold, that it was Tatcha all along with the literal gold spoon that was the winner. I just picked this up from my local Sephora. The packaging is extraordinary and the container design is super cute. It shows that the company actually respects your money. What I love is that its a really thick consistency. When you stir it with the spoon, it feels like when you stir a pudding cup, so that made me hopeful. It’s originally recommended to use the spoonful amount on your lips, but, in my experience, that’s too much. The mask is thick and it’s a jelly, so it’ll spread easily. I used just a half spoonful amount, because, remember, you want the product to soak in, not just sit on top. I included pictures of the before and after. My lips were dry and you could see all of the fine lines and textures. When I added the lip mask, it made my lips look lighter, surprisingly. Of course, it added a shine, but it did also plump out those fine lines. I could rub my lips together and not feel any flakiness nor friction. Honestly, it does have a slight heavy feeling, but don’t fret, at least you know it’s a real mask and is really hydrating, so I overlooked that. It isn’t sticky and my lips feel SO soft. Since you only need a teeny tiny amount, this jar will last you many months. I would estimate 6, so the $28 isn’t a bother to me. If you are also on the search for a lip mask, I would recommend this over the others, not only because the packaging container looks better than the other lip masks on Sephora.com, but that you could use less product on your lips to achieve the result you want.

I bought this after reading rave reviews about it on Reddit and thought, here’s something to add moisture and tint to my lips during the day! I own and like the Laneige lip masks but I have very pale lips so I look dead with colorless lipbalm on. Enters Tatcha Plum Blossom. When I first received it, I realized how tiny it is! It contains only 9 g but the cream looks denser than that of Laneige just by comparing the jars side by side, which means we get even less product per volume than Laneige. The Tatcha mask has a bunch of empty space in the bottom of the jar. I put the first picture for size reference because I got tiny hands and this lip mask looks like a sample in my hands. Speaking of the jar, since it’s clear, once you run out of the balm, the pretty pink color is going to disappear too, because I scoop from the borders and I can see the jar itself isn’t tinted. Let’s talk about that spatula, oh, my gosh. It’s two pieces of cheap gold-painted plastic sticks glued together. The image online looks way better than in real life. Also, this costs like 20% more than the Laneige one, but they didn’t think of adding a sleeve for the applicator. It just gathers dust and germs when I’m not using it. Since they didn’t add a tiny hook for your applicator, I decided to stick it to the top of the lid like the Tatcha creams with some masking tape. The mask itself performs very similarly to Laneige lip masks, and the tint is actually quite appealing. That’s the one thing that’s stopping me from return it right now. However, since I own and love Laneige Gummy Bear lip mask and that one also has a visible tint on me, I’m pretty sure Tatcha doesn’t have a place in my routine. Overall, underwhelming and I’m considering returning it. If it wasn’t for the sale I would never have bought this in the first place.

I found this in store today and already am in love. I wish this formula was in a more convenient stick or tube, but this has dethroned my lip sleeping mask. I feel this absorbs and softens more quickly. The texture is similar to honey and not sticky. I don’t think I’ll necessarily bring this in my purse, but it’s now my absolutely favorite lip product in a pot.

I purchased the LE Red Camellia version direct from the brand. Happy to see it available now online at Sephora. This is a tinted, gel balm version of the original formula, which had a more jelly like consistency. My lips felt moisturized long after the color disappeared. I tend to reach for it more for daytime wear since it’s tinted - it gives my lips a nice sheen and a lovely wash of color that is buildable. Tatcha’s products are always beautifully presented and this LE lip mask is no exception - the packaging, including the jar and the box it comes in, are gorgeous. This makes a beautiful gift ... for yourself and others.

I LOVE THIS it actually works and you have moisturized lips for HOURS. Worth every penny. I’m going back to stock up now!!!!

« NOT CRUELTY FREE »

This product claims it is cruelty free but one of the main ingredients appears to be squalene. Squalene is a natural compound originally taken from shark liver oil, hence the name squalene...squalus is a genus of sharks. While plant sourced squalene is now an option Tatcha gives no credible information that I could find as accessible as to where their squalene is sourced from. If the squalene is indeed sourced from shark liver this is absolutely NOT a cruelty free product. Disappointing and sad, sharks are widely endangered across a variety of species.

« New formula is NOT as good; Drier lips! »

Tatcha changed the formula, and I can’t say it is an improvement at all! :( I owned the original formula, and I absolutely loved it! This new formula does not sink into my lips as well, and I strongly believe that it is actually causing my lips to become more dry as I have woken up two days in a row now with drier lips after using this new mask. Perhaps I got a bad batch? In any case, this is going back as I am extremely unhappy and disappointed in Tatcha messing with the original formula. Please bring back the original formula, Tatcha!!! :(
