I suffer from chronic eczema on my lips and rely on a topical medication to tame flare-ups. However, recently I went on a trip and was unable to take the medication with me (the packaging was too big for carry on). I figured I’d be good for a few days, but (of course) I had one of the worst flare ups of my life. My friend recommended this buttermask. I’ve been a big fan of Kiehl’s for the past few years-- I find that it is the skincare line that works best for sensitive skin. This buttermask was no different. I applied it about 4 times that day, and by the next morning, my lips were almost entirely better. Now that I’m back home and have access to my medication as well as my new buttermask, I find myself reaching for the latter. This product is so good that it actually has replaced a medication. That’s pretty impressive!

I’ve always had a lip balm in every purse for ordinary chapped lips, and I sneered at the idea of paying $20 for a ’lip mask’. Various samples didn’t change my mind. Then I started a medication that severely dehydrates me, and I got super-hellbeast-awful chapped lips, the kind where your skin cracks painfully at the corners and your lips sting. I bought this in desperation and started using it instead of Carmex at night, figuring it wouldn’t help but it was worth a shot. During the night, tiny angels came down and repaired my lips completely. They spackled the cracks at the corners. They restored moisture and took away pain. They smoothed my lips, fluffed my pillow, and left a quarter under my pillow. When I woke up, my lips were better than back to normal. I’m a convert; I use this every night and don’t need my purse balms during the day. This mask also makes me coffee and blueberry muffins every morning and picks out a cute outfit for me. I’ll probably buy it again.

Wow I’m in love with this after only a few nights. I’ve been using the Laneige lip mask and wasn’t super wowed by it, but I was blown away at the noticeable difference after just one night of switching to the Kiehl’s. My lips got so hydrated and smooth on the very first night, and continue to get better each night. This is definitely my new go to night lip treatment. I’m obsessed.

I have terrible dry, cracked lips. Have had them all my life. No amount of water I drink changes that, and the winter makes them infinitely worse. I spend all day peeling them so that lip balm can go on smoothly. Lip balm is pretty much just like a bandaid though, nothing ever truly heals them. It’s an awful cycle. Bought this as an attempt to help me stop peeling and touching my mouth all day long. After about a week, I TRULY saw it’s magic. I use at night and when i wake up in the the morning, I don’t have anything to peel! My lips are COMPLETELY smooth. I have never experienced this with any other product. I’m able to put balm on ONCE in the morning and that’s it, and it doesn’t cake up or sit on top, it actually is able to absorb in. I’m totally sold on this and will purchase again and again. Seriously life changing for me.

This lip mask is very hydrating and texture smoothing. The ingredients give a little zing to your lips as if it has a little mint in it. The picture here is misleading as this is a balm, not whipped. The container is about 2/3 full when opened and the balm is solid. I will repurchase as I love the hydration. I got mine at the Kiehl’s store at the KoP mall as I was in a rush to try it.

LOVE this lip mask, I use a generous amount every night before bed and wake up to perfectly hydrated plump lips!

Worth every penny! A little bit goes a long way so this product will definitely past quite a while. Truly has long term benefits. I find that when I use it one night in the beginning of the week I can find my lips remaining smoother and more moisturized for the remainder of the week.

This made my lips softer, but sadly every time I used it, I broke out right above my lip (where the balm touched). I’ve used Kiehl’s moisturizer with no breakout issues, but it seems like I must be sensitive to one of these ingredients. If you’re comparing treatments, this didn’t work as well as the Laneige overnight lip mask, but it goes on more smoothly and the container is shallower, making it easy to dip and apply (the Laneige packaging is a nightmare).

This lip mask is great. It’s very moisturizing, but feels light weight when on, not super heavy, sticky, or thick. I put this on before bed and my lips feel very soft, smooth and moisturized when I wake up. This is a good product. I personally don’t think it smells like anything. To me it is basically unscented. Another great product from Kiehls.

I don’t love wearing lip products, but I do get dry lips and need something to help! This is the only product I’ve ever tried that lets me wake up to moisturized, soft, not-at-all-dry lips.The difference for me is that with other products, you can sometimes wake up with lips that are moisturized but that need a light exfoliating to get rid of the dry skin sitting on top. With this product, I don’t know what it is, but there is no flaking - you just wake up with perfect-feeling lips and don’t even really think about them.I’ve been comparing with the Laneige lip mask, and this one wins hands down. I also put a very light layer under matte lipsticks to keep them from drying out, and it’s great.

« Delivers as promised »

Finally, a product that delivers what it promises. I live in an extremely dry climate with an altitude of 62,000 feet in the forest. I live with chapped lips all year long, not just winter months. So many products make the promise but just don’t deliver any improvement but this product from Kiehl’s is true to its word. It is Fabulous for me and actually works. I have tried other lip sleep masks with zero results but not this one, it truly delivers and not only gives me moisturized lips when I get up, but keeps on working throughout the morning. I really Love this stuff!. Hubby loves it for his good night kiss too, he even gets a dose.

I used this to help soothe my lips after developing an allergy to lanolin since my beloved bite beauty agave lip mask and aquaphor made my lips swell and itch and get a rash. God sent. Swelling gone in one day and rash completely gone in three days. Now my lips just feel softer than ever. New fav.

This lip mask treatment smells yummy! It is so rich and hydrating. I did notice the next morning how soft and moisturized my lips were.

No. I bought this product because the packaging reminded me of Nuxe Rave de Miel lip balm. The products are totally different. This lip mask does not hydrate my lips at all. I wake up in the mornings and it feels as if I had not put anything on them at all. Returning it.

This is like Bite Beauty’s agave lip mask meets Laneige’s lip mask. Its thin, like the Laneige, but not slippery. Super nourishing! My only complaint is that it is a biiit chunky in the pot, and pricey.
