« The sweet spot for AHA »
This product was my first introduction to AHA, and it was a good one. I wanted something that was anti-aging, and this was it. I felt like it defended me against fine lines, and it also made more skin look noticeably more radiant.I bought the travel size, and a little went a long way. I used this for months. Somewhere along the way I felt that the texture got a little thick, so I switched to another product. But I appreciate the gel formulation because it feels so lightweight on my skin. Very pleasant. Plus, the 8% concentration was a good starting point. I find that a lot of AHA concentrations are either too low or too high. This hit the sweet spot.I own several products from Paula’s Choice, and I would recommend this.
« One of my 'Desert Island' Products »
This fickle product junkie lacks loyalty as I’m always searching for the next best thing for my slightly dry VERY acne prone skin post 50 (fun!) But this one always stays in my regimen. so simple, effective and elegant formulation that complements any other product and gives you radiant skin if used 2-3x / week. Just buy it!
Best PC exfoliant! I’ve used several. This is the sweet spot % wise and I wake up with soft glowing skin! Sephora bring in more Paula’s choice!!!
« Red dry bumps- almost gone! »
I have red, dry bumps (Pilaris keratosis-hope I spelled that right) on my upper arm and have been told by dermatologists to use Amlactin and it takes months for me to see a difference. I’ve used this product a week and already see a huge difference. Finally an answer after 20 years! Thanks to the person on Reddit for the recommendation!
« you need this »
Flaw free. Amazing. I love her. Was using Drunk Elephant AHA serum but wanted to switch after their recent reformulation. Everything about this product is a 10/10. Gel consistency makes this easy to spread and apply, and you only need a small amount to cover and large area. No burning, peeling, or weird smells. Just glowy, soft skin. Massive bottle that has lasted me ages. Great deal for the amount of product. I use on nights that I don’t use prescription tretinoin (if you haven’t gotten on the prescription retinol train, I’m here to convince you that it’s better and cheaper than anything you could get from Sephora). If you have oily, congested, acne prone, late 20’s skin that is starting to get fine lines, YOU NEED THIS. Honestly idc what kind of skin you have, you need this.
« Great for acne marks »
So I’ve been dealing with hormonal acne after I stopped taking my birth control. It’s now been 7 months since I stopped using the pill and I’ve gotten the most acne on my chin area, seriously this product helped diminish the look of the marks left over from the acne ! I used it twice a day for 11 days ! In the morning I made sure I layered sunscreen on top I will say it doesn’t mix to well with a lot of products it starts to flake. So I just made sure I used a moisturizer with spf. At night time I only used eye cream and this product. If you have uneven skin tone or acne marks I really think you need to try this. So far so happy and will continue to use.
Love love this stuff !! I put it on at night instead of the daytime and I wake up with soft skin . It’s also helped with my aging skin . I did learn one thing and that is he sure to put lip balm on before applying because this stuff is stronger then the other brands I’ve used . I’ll be choosing more of Paulas choice products in the future
Great formulation for the price! I have hormonal acne, and while it’s mainly under control, I still get hyperpigmentation. I use prescription strength retinol (tretinoin) and azelaic acid to help with acne and hyperpigmentation. While both help, I have noticed a significant improvement when I use it 2-3 times a week. I chose Paula’s Choice glycolic acid because I use other actives and wanted something with a lower concentration. I like that this product has some calming ingredients like chamomile, aloe, and green tea. Like many chemical exfoliants, the smell isn’t great, but I have used worse scented exfoliants. After applying at night, I wake up with glowy skin, and I can tell my sunscreen and makeup applies well. Overall, this is a solid AHA exfoliant for the price.
« Great for sensitive skin! »
I love how this exfoliant feels very smooth when applied, and how gentle it is. It’s great for my sensitive, combination skin. I may try their stronger BHA & AHA exfoliant next, as it seems my skin has built a tolerance to this one :)
« A »
I just started using this for a week (applying twice a day after cleansing and before sunscreen/moisturizer) and I do see a different in skin texture. I really do like the gel application. My skin looks clear and vibrant. Will try to do an updated review after a month of application.
« Texture? GONE! »
I use this once a week, and my skin is soooo much smoother. It’s the best exfoliation treatment ever!
- [ ] This gel exfoliant literally helps to remove dead skin of my face and make it so soft. It also gives needed hydration to my face and make it glowing and plumper. Its part of my morning and evening Skincare routine. I also like its ingredients like chamomile and green tea which are great antioxidants. I really satisfied with this exfoliant.
Beautiful formula - my skincare specialist noticed a difference in my skin after 2-3 weeks of using this daily. My congestion was much better around my T-Zone and my skin was brighter and more even. I will be using this for life!
« Drunk Elephant Dupe »
I find this product absorbs very well, and doesn’t pill in my skincare routine. It has no scent, absorbs well, and the nature of glycolic acid having a smaller molecule, apposed to Sunday Riley’s Good Genes with Lactic acid (which also has more of a lotion consistency which feels less effective), it really does feel as though it’s doing more. Gave a 4/5 stars because it does take consistent use to use for a month or, seemingly longer than the drunk elephants glycolic serum-with a similar consistency, before seeing results. However, much cheaper and is a perfect dupe.
« holy grail for pcos ingrowns »
My skin is sensitive, dry/combo, and I have to deal with facial hair due to PCOS. I’m constantly dealing with ingrowns on my neck/chin, as well as dark spots from years of tweezing. I’ve tried everything including all the dupes including honeymoon glow, good genes, the ordinary, and drunk elephant. This is the only one that really works—I’ve now been using it for 18 months and it’s still going strong. I just put one pump on the areas that get ingrowns after showering, and follow with a heavy moisturizer (the ordinary Marula oil or LRP cisaplast Baum) and it prevents 99% of the ingrowns. The ones that do happen pop right out on their own after a day or two. I’ve struggled with this for years and it’s incredible what a difference this has finally made. One tip-just use on the parts of your skin that need it. It’s a bit too potent for everyday use on other parts of my face so I just focus on the areas where I need it most. If you want to try it, I recommend the travel/mini size. It lasted a long time for me and I was able to see a difference before it ran out.
