« New package - same amazing results »
Finally, after months of waiting this is available in Canada! This cleanser has been my skincare soulmate for over 7 years. In my mid to late 20s I experienced wide-spread breakouts on my face, specifically my forehead and cheekbone area. I tried everything, including medicated topical ointments, three oral antibiotics, and visits to dermatologists who pressured me into buying $400 worth of “effective“ skincare lines. They said the only other solution was Accutane, which I didn’t want to try. I walked into a Sephora feeling pretty defeated and an employee told me to try this cleaner. That was 7 years ago and I haven’t looked back since. The cleanser immediately dried up the breakouts and within two to three days they were flaking off. It has a neutral scent that isn’t overpowering and the clay based formula is great for combination skin so that it removes excess oil from the oily parts of your face but doesn’t over-dry your dry/normal parts, like my cheeks. This cleanser saved my skin and my confidence. If you’re looking for a solution that is gentle, effective, and won’t break the bank then give this a shot.
« Miracle Cleanser »
I’m in my late 20s and have been developing my skincare routine since I was 15. This cleanser formulation feels like an oxymoron and shouldn’t make sense, but it does. My tiny pores and non-tight face after using is a testament to how well this works. I have the definition of combination skin. My cheeks are fine, but my T-zone is singlehandedly my biggest problem. I have washed my face religiously with clean hands twice a day for years, experience minimal stress, and use products that I’ve scoured the ingredients of multiple times and labeled as sensitive and derm approved, and yet I was still suffering from random whiteheads on my forehead, nose, and chin, as well as itchiness and redness. I feel like my skin was in a great place years ago, but something changed and many products and ingredients I used to be able to tolerate (like retinol), my skin can no longer take and I experience rashes and other issues. I was worried that removing retinol from my routine would make my skincare effectiveness fall apart, and it did. Since then (for about 2 years) my skin has been dull, tight, itchy, riddled with random blemishes that scar, and uneven texture. I have been scrambling trying to rebuild my skincare routine and I finally feel like it’s solidified with the help of this cleanser.I can feel the clay doing its work while I massage it in, but I also feel the glycerin and other hydrating ingredients when I wash this off. I love how it’s a cleanser and not a mask you need to leave on for several minutes.Using this combined with the sample of the Ready Steady Glow toner, my skin has returned to what it used to look like in my early 20s. It’s completely clear, bright, pores are small, and I don’t feel like my skin is crying out for moisture even after I apply moisturizer. I have replaced my double cleansing with this cleanser twice a day, and I no longer experience tightness or rashes. If you feel like you’ve tried everything, give this cleanser a try.
« Different and Effective »
The first time I used this amazing cleanser over 5 years ago I knew it was completely different than any other cleanser I had ever used to deal with my break outs. My skin is never stripped, dehydrated, painful when I am using it. I also see clearer skin than I ever have before I found it. Instead it is soft, smooth, and blemish free. I can cleanse my skin AM & PM then mask with it 2-3 times a week also. I hope REN never stops making this cleanser as it is at the core of my entire routine. The new sustainable packaging is great for the planet while being eye catching.
« Great for Hormonal Acne and Dry Skin »
Recommended this cleanser in store for my dry, hormonal skin; this is the FIRST cleanser that helped my acne while not drying out my skin! I use it on my body when I have backne because it doesn’t make my skin too dry
« Truly Non-Irritating! »
I can understand why there’s so many rave reviews. I’ve been using this now for a few weeks and it basically hits all the things I’ve been looking for in a cleanser - feels lovely and creamy, and saps excess oil and dirt but doesn’t irritate or dry out the skin. I also love the smell, very earthy and clean, and I love that the company is so environmental conscious. Most cleansers that promise to clarify or exfoliate the skin end up being too irritating for me to use daily, even though they claim to be gentle. This one though truly holds up to its promise. It’s a keeper!
« Get this product! »
I have combination skin with some really dry patches on some of my face, a very oil tzone, and really intense sebaceous filaments on my nose. This product hydrates my skin and is able to manage the sebaceous filaments on my nose! I love it
« caused a horrible acne reaction! »
I really wanted to love this product and I bought it, because the reviews were so good. The consistency of this product was not very thick and as soon as you put it on your face and add water, itturns into a creamy light emulsion. For me I didn’t find it washed off very much on my face and I used it in a double cleanse. I have combination skin which leads towards being very oily with dry patches. I am also very acne prone and if I put the wrong thing on my face, I get cystic acne very easily. I really wanted to love this product but every time I washed my face with this, I would get horrible breakouts. I stopped using it and the breakouts cleared up. Unfortunately, it’s too much money to keep this if it causes such a reaction on my skin so I will be returning. I love Ren products, unfortunately this did not work out for me!
« Fantastic »
I remember when they briefly discontinued this to change to recycled plastics and I was so sad. I’ve been missing this product in my life! BUT this company is on track to be zero waste by the end of this year which means not only is the clear calm collection one of the best clean skincare products I’ve ever used, they’re also probably the closest you get to ethical consumption honestly. This literally reads like an ad or a bot because I’m raving so much but buy this. It’s worth it.
« All-Time Favourite Product!! »
This is the BEST Cleanser I’ve ever used. Also, it’s the Best Mask, AND the Best Spot Treatment. All in One. New packaging, which explains the limited reviews.
« so good »
i really love this cleanser. it has been working super well consistently since i first got it, which was roughly a month ago. i was initially drawn to this cleanser because it has two great ingredients for my oily, acne-prone skin: clay and salicylic acid (willow bark extract, in this case). there aren’t any sulfates in this cleanser, therefore it doesn’t really lather. i like this because sulfates tend to strip even the oiliest of skin like mine. it keeps breakouts at bay, balances my oiliness throughout the day, and leaves my skin feeling neutral post-cleanse rather than parched like some other acne-fighting cleansers do. i heavily recommend this to anyone with oily, acne-prone skin. i will be repurchasing this when i run out.
Same wonderful clay cleanser from Ren, but in earth friendly packaging! When Sephora stopped carrying the original, I continued to order this directly from Ren because I have battled cystic acne for around 20 years (and this is the only product that seems to help stop my cysts from forming — even when I haven’t been eating a healthy diet). I use it ask a mask before my night time skincare routine, and as a spot treatment (over night) for stubborn areas (T zone). A little goes a long way, it doesn’t foam, and it’s gentle. I highly recommend giving it a try!
« Works great for me! »
I love this cleanser. My face is a bit oily but also sensitive. Some of those gentle cleaners just feel like lotion and don’t do much for me. This makes my skin feel clean without drying out my skin or breaking me out! :) I’ve repurchased it already!
« works great for my acne :) »
I have a mix of hormonal and cystic acne so it can get pretty painful and impossible to cover since it shows up everywhere on my face, but I find that this helps a lot for my skin. I followed the instructions for massaging it on for 2 min every morning and then before I go to bed. Within the week I found that it helped with the excess oil I have always had problems with. It’s also been able to tame most of the acne breakouts although being it hormonal acne its still a bit tough to control. I know that if I were to go back to my other old product and routine my acne would have gone back to being horrible and impossible to cover again. I also have a gluten allergy so this is a plus. I have been using this product for about 6+ months now and I love it :)
« Feels gross »
This left a really weird oily film on my face! I tried it out a couple times, and both times I had to wash with my usual face wash immediately after.
« Happy with my purchase »
I was hesitant to try a new cleanser. I’ve been using DE jelly cleanser for 2 years now, it cleans off makeup without over drying my skin but doesn’t really do anything else for me. I have combination/dry skin that can be sensitive. I tried this on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. It has a minty/tingly feeling while you’re scrubbing, which at first worried me that it would leave my skin dry, but it rinses off well and my skin was not tight at all! I found my oily t zone and dry cheeks were very balanced. I’m excited to use this as a mask one day as well! I followed this with the Ren vitamin C day gel cream. Which has also been working well. The bottle is expensive, but you need so little! This will last at least 5 months if not longer!
