i love this but it made me break out really bad. i love that it turns into a cleanser when you add water and it removes your makeup really well. sad it didn’t work for me.
« Heavily scented »
This product is heavily perfumed and caused irritation every single time I tired it. I returned it
« fantastic »
Excellent. I’ve been using baby oil forever to take off my eye makeup... I could get away with it in my 20’s but now I’m in my 40’s and that just doesn’t fly anymore. I am into skin care products so it was anticlimactic that I was still using baby oil for eye makeup. Did a lot of research looking for a natural, high end, high quality ingredients oil cleanser and I’m happy I’ve found this product.Korean and Japanese products are highly regarded and for good reason. This oil cleanser smalls great, has awesome natural ingredients, feels luxurious and gentle on the skin around my eyes, takes off even waterproof mascara easily, and leaves my skin clean and free of makeup and ready for a foam cleanser ( double cleansing). Also it doesn’t cause eye irritation or reaction. Will repurchase but this one should last me a while as I don’t wear makeup everyday. Very impressed with this oil cleanser.
« What smell? »
This is the least expensive oil cleanser I have used. It’s gentle, effective, lots of slip, and I have no idea why people would complain about a smell that is practically non existent. Seems like a good value, and I will be purchasing in the future (received a sample)
« most incredible oil cleanser »
love the consistency of this oil cleanser. compared to tatcha’s and amore pacific’s, it’s a lot thinner and doesn’t have that “oily“ feeling. the scent smells natural and I get really excited to remove my makeup now - just so that I can use this! for context, I wear waterproof mascara that is super stubborn. this oil cleanser has reduced my previous process from 2 steps to 1 step. can’t recommend this enough!
« BUY THIS NOW! »
Wow! This product saved my skin. I’ve been going through it during quarantine. Right after Covid started I began using micellar water to remove my make up, I didn’t have problems at first but eventually my pores were irritated everyday I never had a week without severe breakouts. I realized what the culprit was and needed to make a change quick when I came across this stuff. I have such sensitive skin and two days after switching I saw major improvement. Now I rarely break out my skin texture is gone and my skin just feels fabulous after I cleanse. Also I must add this is a pricey purchase but it’s worth every penny it feels so luxurious on and isn’t like any cleansing oil I’ve used before
« Perfect consistency, not too runny or thick. »
At first, I was put off by the scent of ginger. But I love how only 1 pump is needed, it takes off waterproof mascara, does not sting my eyes, and wasn’t too runny. Also, one week in of using this and I haven’t noticed any leaks from the bottle, unlike in the horrendous packaging failure that is with the Dermalogica Precleanse. My skin is baby soft after each use and I think I have actually gotten used to the ginger smell because I don’t notice it as strongly as I did when I first tried it. To be honest, I prefer the AmorePacific oil cleanser over this one but who wants to spend $50 on a cleanser?!?
« love love love »
I recently switched from cleansing balms to oil and found the perfect one with Sulwhasoo! Been using this for a month now and loving it. One pump is the perfect amount and spreads smoothly over my face. Removes all makeup easily even my waterproof mascaraand very gentle on the eyes. Does not irritate at all. It has a light herbal scent which I like because I don’t like heavily fragranced products. I use this as step one for double cleanse although you can use by itself if you are in a hurry, after washing off with water my skin is still soft and not tight. I have not tried other popular cleansing oils such as shu umuera but Sulwhasoo has set the bar high. If you haven’t tried this, I highly recommend!
« Consistent Delicate Cleanser »
I bought this for use in my 10-step routine and use 1-2 times daily. The pump provides the perfect amount of liquid for a cleanse. It emulsifies in your hands when rubbed together quickly and is very lightweight for an oil cleanser. The ginseng smell is delicate. I follow it with Clinique #1 cleanser and toner. I used Sulwhasoo products when I was in Korea (where the price isn’t as high) and recommend their full suite of products; they’re amazing when used together.
« HG of Oil Cleansers »
Background: 34 yo, light dry sensitive skin (Asian). I’ve been using Sulwhasoo products for about 7 years and this is by far THE best oil cleanser I’ve ever used. It does not irritate or dry out my skin. I only use this when I’ve had makeup on and use it before using Sulwhasoo Gentle Cleansing Foam. I’ve tried using water cleansers to take off my makeup and it just doesn’t do a great job. Using this in conjunction with the gentle cleansing foam, my breakouts are minimal. One pump does the trick, a little goes a long way. It takes off all of my makeup (waterproof too) effortlessly. There is a light herbal smell to it. If you’re sensitive to smell, I’d suggest trying it out before saying no to it. It is on the pricey side but its definitely worth it!
« Best Cleansing Oil! »
I’m so happy I no longer have to use abrasive methods to remove water proof liners, mascara, liquid lippies, and lash glue. Good bye cotton pads and make up remover! All you need are your clean dry hands, dry face, and the sulwhasoo gentle cleansing oil! It takes away EVERYTHING!
« Repurchasing this! »
This oil cleanser is the perfect first step in my cleaning routine. I saw some people say it doesn’t remove makeup but you have to use it like this: pump the remover (2 pumps if you have stubborn or heavy makeup) into DRY hands onto your DRY face and break apart your makeup. Then, add some water to your hands and keep dissolving the makeup until the remover becomes milky white. Rinse off the remover with water. Finally, use a gentle cleanser (like Cerave) to get excess makeup remover and leftover makeup off. It’s so gentle and luxurious!
« This is the nicest oil cleanser that I’ve used. »
This is the best cleansing oil that I’ve used, and I’ve probably tried using 5-10. A lot caused whiteheads, but this doesn’t. I’ve been using it for a few years. I do double cleanse by using my regular foaming cleanser afterwards.I put a pump of this on my face when it’s still dry, then massage it around for a few minutes. Then splash on a little water and massage it around less than a minute. Rinse it off and wash with my regular cleanser. My face feels much cleaner and smoother by doing that than it did when I only use regular cleanser. I think that it also does a much better job of removing sunscreen.I use retin a and often had flaky patches before I started double cleansing with this. I don’t have any flaky dry spots anymore. It also seems to make blackheads or sebaceous filaments come out of my pores while I’m using it. Especially if I let it sit on my skin for around 10 minutes before I start massaging it. While using it, I can’t detect much, if any, scent if that matters to you. A bottle lasts me for over 6 months of daily use.
I’ve purchased 6 times. I look forward to washing my face because of Sulwhasoo Oil Cleanser. The natural scent is so refreshing and calming. I have dry, textured, sensitive skin and this helps balance and soothe. I wear at least 2-3 coats of mascara and dark liner/eyeshadow everyday and with 2 pumps of the oil, in about 20 seconds it’s all broken down. I’ll continue to recommend this to all.
« It's a NO for me... »
I just tried a sample that I got from my last purchase... I did not like it at all..! The smell is weird; even my husband entered into the bathroom and asked me what was I using because it smelled like Vicks Vaporub or Eucaliptus Alcohol. Yeap..! To that level..! Besides, this can’t be used near the eyes nor the mouth. Really..?? Definitely, NO..! I felt nothing special with this product, I’m just glad that I finally tried it and did not purchased it before. I’ll keep using my Clinique Take the Day Off Oil/ Balm.
