« Seriously amazing »

I am 27 and have combo skin (but it gets flaky/dehydrated in the winter) that is easily prone to breakouts year round. I wanted to focus more on my skincare after feeling like my current routine wasn’t really doing anything other than just cleaning my face. For reference, I stopped BC about 4 months ago and I would still break out on it, and I still break out off of it. After reading tonsss of reviews for this, I decided to purchase the travel size to give it a try... I am SO glad I did. My pores get so much more clean, my skin looks radiant, it has more of an even tone, and it just looks like it has life. It does NOT break me out which I am so happy about. I wont’ say this is a cure for acne because I still do breakout or have belmishes here and there but I know it’s not a direct correlation to this..it’s just my skin (ugh). I do feel like this is helping care for my skin for anti aging and for giving it a wonderful clean glow. Ordered another one so I can keep my travel sized one for actual travel now! Can’t wait to see how this does in the winter on my skin too. (At the same time I also purchased the Caudelie essence water which I use daily, the Tata Harper clarifying mask which I’ve been using weekly, and the Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta Universal Daily Peel which I used 3 times but wasn’t sure how I felt about it) Side note for acne prone people, I have also used a wide range of face washes from all natural, drug store acne ones, prescription, etc. and I like this ones wayyy more than any other one I’ve tried. I will follow this cleanser up with a drugstore acne wash on days when my breakouts are a bit more prevalent. Sorry for the long post! I just know this kind of info helps me make decisions :)

Okay, I’ve been impressed with other products from sephora, both skincare and makeup, but nothing has ever helped me so much as this product. I’ve had genetic and hormonal cystic acne, since I was about 15 yrs old. It got so bad by my senior year of high school that I was seeing a dermatologist. For years I was put on a mild antibiotic to help with the acne. Recently, I’ve really wanted to get off the antibiotic so I stopped taking them. Most people know that when you stop taking something you’ve been taking daily, your body reacts in a sort of “panic“. I had washed my face with cetaphil’s gentle skin cleanser for years, and even while taking my antibiotics, I would break out with a few painful cysts, especially around my time of the month. It was only till about 2- 3 weeks ago that I realized cetaphil contains harmful ingredients that can cause acne and irritation. I immediately quit cetaphil and had to find a replacement, and fast, since I was no longer on my antibiotics. I did a lot of research and came to this cleanser. It doesn’t contain any ingredients that are unsafe to apply to the face, nor does it cause acne or irritation. I’ve been using this cleanser every morning and night for about 2 weeks now, and can say that no product has ever helped my skin so much. I’ve got what seems like millions of acne scars that never fade, sensitive and acne prone skin, so I don’t have to tell you that finding a product that doesn’t affect me poorly even slightly, is extremely rare. My skin looks brighter, feels fresh and clean, and hasn’t broken me out once! It also makes the entire process of washing/cleansing my face way faster. To anyone who has skin like mine, or a similar situation, try this cleanser. I’ve done the research, so you don’t have to. This cleanser is worth every penny.

« Removes ALL makeup »

I wear a LOT of makeup almost daily, consisting of layers of face makeup, eyeshadow/primer, waterproof eyeliner+mascara so I usually had to soak my eyes AND face in waterproof makeup remover, cleanse, tone, and still I would have some residual makeup leftover. I tried a sample of this, massaged it all over my face/eyes (gently) and I could feel my makeup breaking up. Added some water, massaged a little more, and rinsed it off. I was prepared to cleanse with my regular cleanser to get anything left over off, but to my surprise there wasn’t anything left on my face. Not even the eyeliner that gets stuck on my waterline. After my usual cleansing routine, my face usually feels dry, tight, and stripped of all oils. After using the Tatcha, it felt soft and supple.While I would hardly ever justify spending almost 50 bucks on a cleanser, I think I’ll go ahead and purchase this. A little goes a long way, completely removes ALL makeup, and my skin feels comfortable and healthy afterwards.

i LOVED this at first, and that feeling lasted for a week or two before i noticed my skin changing. i chalked it up to another product, but after discontinuing the other new product, i noticed no improvement. my normally clear skin has steadily gotten worse over several weeks, and i’m having the worst breakouts of my life. to make it worse, even when the bumps die down, the color takes weeks to fade. glad to be done with the product, but not looking forward to the weeks it’s going to take for my skin to recover.

This cleansing oil is awesome. I wear a full face of makeup about 5 days a week, and I use this to wash off my face makeup at night. I don’t know if it’s good at removing eye makeup or not bc I use Bioderma first to remove my eye makeup, then use this for the rest of my makeup, then a First Aid Beauty gentle cleanser. The combination works great. My skin feels clean and soft without feeling dry. For reference, I am 28 years old and I have dry and very sensitive skin with some oiliness in my T zone.

As a person with an oiler complexion, I was concerned about this product being too gentle and moisturizing, thereby making me oily and not providing a thorough cleanse. I could not have been more wrong. This is an unbelievably luxurious and enjoyable way to take off makeup and cleanse the face. After one wash, I saw such a dramatic change in my skin from oily, pore-gaping, and rough, so smooth, soft, supple, and squeaky clean. Continued use has only further deepened my love for this product. While I have never paid this amount of money for a cleanser, I have very troubled, acne-prone, oily and combination skin, which is notoriously the most difficult to find the right products for. This cleanser is worth EVERY penny, not to mention, packaged beautifully. Thank you Tatcha, you have one satisfied customer! And to Sephora, please carry more Tatcha products!!!

« Buyer BEWARE »

Sensite, dry, ALL skin beware. I am an avid Sephora shopper and I have never felt such a way about a product that I had to take to the review section. I tried this during an age defying skin care class at Sephora and my skin has been covered with tiny bumps across my chin and cheeks. I have incredibly soft, smooth clear skin. I have tried a number of products throughout the years and I have never had this reaction to any product ever. I wish I would have read the other reviews of users having adverse reactions before trying this along with the violet mask. Honestly, what it does to your skin is depressing and the thought that this may take weeks to clear up is absolutely awful. I do hope that Sephora does not filter this review to the bottom. Hopefully this spares somebody.

« All Tatcha Products are Terrible for Skin »

I started out loving Tatcha and wrote a great review of their cleansing powder which Sephora will now not let me update (tsk tsk). Over time, these products started to make my skin scaly with raised bumps everywhere, even the gentle formula. Be careful if you have sensitive skin. This damage takes weeks to repair.

This product description claims that it is meant to take off makeup however it does so much more than that!I definitely recommend this product because it has helped my face with getting over my acne and leaves my skin looking fantastic!It also works really well to take off makeup but using it as just a regular face wash has worked wonders for me too!

« The best of the best!! »

I’ve tried countless cleansing oils and this blows them all out of the water. It seemed like cleansing oils that would easily remove all makeup would leave a gross film, and vice versa cleansing oils without the film couldn’t easily remove all makeup. This does both my skin feels refreshed and clean after using this, without a trace of makeup. While it is pricey I really do think it is worth it.

I’ve used various cleansing oils from Origins, Shu Uemura, Boscia, etc and I truly believe I have found the best of the best in this Tatcha cleansing oil. I have combination skin, mixed with the dry California climate and me not drinking enough water, it becomes very dehydrated and sometimes flaky, while remaining oily in the t-zone. The Tatcha cleansing oil works wonders on my skin type, as it is lightweight and removes every trace of makeup, while still allowing my skin to retain it’s moisture, without being greasy. My skin feels supple and soft after using this cleansing oil and I love that I only need 1-2 pumps of it to remove all of my makeup. It has a relaxing spa like scent that is soft and does not linger after it is rinsed off. I absolutely love this cleansing oil, combined with it’s luxurious packaging and wonderful ingredients, and will continue to repurchase it and recommend it to others.

This cleansing oil is, by a wide margin, my favourite and only cleanser! It feels wonderful going on, and washes off cleanly, taking with it my eyeliner which otherwise has terrific staying power -- I can’t say the same for the Nude cleansing oil, which I have also tried.It isn’t at all harsh, either. I used to have these reddish, itchy dry patches on my cheeks (I had them for years and no product really touched them!) and I find that with this cleanser, they have faded away almost completely! I don’t even use a fancy moisturizer (just cerave, which i’ve been using for probably 2 years now) and my routine has otherwise remained stable, so I can attribute this change entirely to this cleanser.For reference, I have dry skin that tends to be very dry on my forehead and on my cheeks, and my nose can get a bit oily -- this cleanser never exacerbates the oiliness on my nose, I find that more depends on how much moisturizer I slather on there (don’t expect to not need a moisturizer after the cleansing oil). I would recommend this cleanser to anyone, but particularly someone who is struggling with dry/irritated skin. I don’t typically write reviews, but I’m really impressed with this product and seeing as it has helped me immensely, I hope I can pass along the word and maybe it will help others!

« Great for makeup days »

This is my second bottle of this Cleansing Oil. I only use it at night on the days I wear foundation/makeup. I use this to “dissolve“ my makeup and then use another cleanser after to get anything left behind. I have really oily skin most of the time since I live in Florida , and this did not break me out at all. I have changed my entire skin care routine since undergoing laser to treat melasma and this fits in perfectly.

I have loved this oil for years so great at taking all my makeup off and leaving my skin soft and clean. However this is not the same product any longer, new formula is not a improvement. The price is the same but less product and I imagine they have not updated the ingredients because this no longer takes all my makeup off or leave my face glowing anymore. Such a shame will start looking for a new oil cleaner. Tatcha you just loss this customer and I will no longer buy your other products because they have also probably been changed without any warning to the customer.

I am so pleased Sephora has started carrying this! This is perfect for makeup removal. I’m a clarisonic user, and I didn’t think I’d ever find a cleanser that would take off makeup with out using it. So to experiment, I used the cleanser with out the clarisonic first, when I went over my skin afterward. The brush came up clean! That rarely happens. This cleanser also leaves my face supple and hydrated without a hint of residue after cleansing. Unbelievable! I’m hooked :)
